This weekend was full of celebrating a few of our friends accomplishments — the people who had a dream + balls + passion and made it all happen. I think I have mentioned here before how inspiring it is to watch somebody live out their dreams and how it ignites all sorts of happy feelings on my insides [similar to what Jake Owen does to me] but truly, it’s wonderful. One of my favorite quotes is “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Thanks Howard Thurman for those wise words. Anyhow, that quote just kept ringing in my ears as we rocked out at our friend’s album release party [
download A Great Place To Start by Eric Lee Carpenter on iTunes or Spotify now] and as we drank another one of our friends homemade beer at his brand new brewery [
south bend brew werks, check it].
It obviously all makes me question what in the heck I am doing with my own life [aside from watching Sex and the City] and makes me pay a little more attention to what I am doing today to get me to where I want to be in three months, three years, and thirty years from now. I guess there is only one problem with all of this…I don’t really know where I want to be. Blogging? Perhaps. Working full-time? Maybe. Kids? Don’t know. Living in the same house? Gosh I hope or my husband will murder me if we move. Eating macaroni and cheese, drinking vodka, and telling myself I need to be working out? Absolutely.
So I guess I have a little bit of an idea of what I’ll be doing.
But really, it all has me kinda curious and more tuned into what my passions are. It has also made my stomach hurt because hello, figuring out life is a little bit ulcer inducing. As of right now here is what I have discovered that makes me come alive:
+ searching the TV every morning for movies that I can record that day
+ moscow mules
+ watching Eric Church in concert and trying to out-sing the drunk boys next to me [thank you
Malibu Rum for scratching another #BestSummerEver item off my bucket list]
+ posing with lions. raaaaaaaaaawr.
+ my new keurig 2.0 brewer
+ bacon aioli sauce on top of a cheeseburger
+ really really really soft pajamas
+ popping champagne bottles
+ mocking people
+ reading every Emily Giffen book possible
+ ballin’ outta control
And that pretty much covers it.
As you can see, I’ve got a bright future ahead of me. Stay tuned to see what I do with all of these passions. I foresee a lot of weight gain, good times, and late nights on the couch in my near future.
