Per some of your requests, I have decided to share with you the recipes that us ladies used the other night in creating our gifts in a jar. Looking at the picture above, I think it is pretty evident that we are a qualified group of girls to share this information.
One thing before we begin.
Be prepared to have a little bit of a mess on your hands.
Something about dumping cocoa powder into a small hole.
Remember to remove your glittery brand new table runner from Target PRIOR to dumping said hot cocoa. Lesson learned the hard way. Sorry glittery cute table runner.
To prevent such mishaps, use a funnel to filter your ingredients in your jars as seen below..
Thank my genius friend for that idea.
Also, it should be noted that it is a much better idea to line up all of your jars–and do one ingredient in all jars at a time (ie: first layer first in all ten jars, then second layer in all jars, etc).
For some reason I never learned this lesson. Fortunately everybody else in attendance did.
I’m about to drop three different recipes on your asterisks.
Have fun.
First item up–
And last but not least,
Per One Quart Jar
1 cup chocolate chips
PREPARATION:
Sift flour before measuring. Mix together flour, soda and baking powder.
Layer flour mixture, brown sugar, granulated sugar and M&Ms-brand candies in jar. Pack firmly.
And no matter what you do–just have fun.
We sure did.
