Sweater Weather in July? You better believe it. I never thought I’d be talking about cozy goodness right smack-dab in the middle of summer, but hey, there’s a first time for everything. Now before you go clicking those fingers away in search of traditional summer outfits, hear me out. If you’re heading into the office for a day on the clock [or Zooming from home] anytime in mid-July, then you know just how chilly AC on full-blast can get. And with our recent transition to lake life, we’ve been spending the majority of our cool summer nights near the water. So whether you’re spending your days cranking the AC or soaking up every last drop of summer evenings [or a mixture of both] never fear, LIY is here to make rockin’ the summer sweater a breeze.
Remember the office or ZFH [Zoom-From-Home] days I mentioned earlier? Here you have it, friends. I’m combatting full-blast AC [seriously, the colder the better] with colorful cardis. This lightweight option adds a fun pop of color– without fear of heat exhaustion. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I’m a firm believer that wearing a bright color on the outside makes me feel all sorts of bright on the inside.
If you follow along on Instagram stories, then you know my love for a good sunset runs deep. There’s just something about those tangerine skies that sets my soul on fire while simultaneously calming me to my core. If Mother Nature gives you the same adrenaline rush, then this sunset sweater was made for us both. Pro Tip: Wear while watching the sun go down– just add a cocktail [or two].
Last, but certainly not least. What do you get when you mix a scalloped skirt, bold colors, and a summer sweater? Three of my favorite things all wrapped in one outfit, that’s what. Wear it for work, wear it on a date [are those still a thing?] — the world is your oyster. Or should I say, the world is your scallop? 😉
