I saw a post recently that said “If I would’ve known my last trip to Target would be my last trip to Target, I would’ve gone a little harder” and words have never rang more true. While we couldn’t spend hours upon hours wandering the aisles of our happy place, the LIY team took to target.com to fill the void. Adaptability is an art form, my friends. In order to re-create a “quick” Targ run [we all know how those typically go] we put ourselves on a $50 budget and went buck wild. From fashion to snackin’, here’s what we hit checkout on for $50 or less at Target.
The minute I spotted this under $20 top, I knew I wanted to try it. I’m a huge fan of the eyelet sleeve and the color drew me in instantly. It is a nice weight [not too thin, not too heavy] and fun for spring!
I’ve been using this brightening serum for awhile and I can promise you, it’s good. I love that it is made of clean ingredients and it doesn’t leave my face oily. I use it both morning and night before moisturizer and I do feel like it has made a difference in both the brightness and overall feeling of my skin.
I can’t get over the cuteness of this planter. The colors match our new kitchen perfectly and every time I see it sitting on our little kitchen window shelf it makes me so happy. Inside I put this small faux lemon plant which adds a nice touch of greenery for less than $5! If you do order this combo just note that you will need to place a little stuffing [I used paper towels because I’m fancy like that] to make the plant sit a little higher in the planter!
Since we all find ourselves spending more time at home these days, I rounded up some great at-home items from Target! When you are homebound, comfort is key! That’s why I find myself wearing nothing but pajamas these days! I love this super soft set in a classic pj cut! Lightweight since the weather is warming up and in such a cute blush stripe! I also snagged a little potted faux eucalyptus plant to bring some life into our home! This candle brightens things up with its summery citrus scent! And finally, one of my favorite go-to snacks! If you are a peanut butter and chocolate lover, your life is about to change! This Peanut Butter Monster trail mix has Peanut Butter M&Ms, peanut butter covered pretzels, mini peanut butter cups, raisins, peanut butter chips and of course, peanuts! It’s a PB explosion!
Last Fall we had the deck removed from the back of our house, and a large patio added. Unfortunately the project was completed right as the weather turned cold so we weren’t able to use the space or add cute, fun touches. When we were tasked with seeing what we could find at Target for $50 – naturally I headed straight for the outdoor section of the site! For around $45 I found 2 sets of string lights, a tabletop planter and a 2 pack of extension forks. While it still gets too cold at night to plant a pretty little flower in the planter, it looks so cute sitting out on the table and I can’t wait to see it sporting some blooms. We’ve been enjoying the string lights each evening, and I’m ready for some warmer nights to have a fire and test out those extension forks on some toasty marshmallows!

My four go to spots in Target — the women’s clothing section, currently the Easter section and beauty area. Every once in awhile I will add in the home section to my route but we all know where that leads to… blacking out and $400 later lol So after hitting my normal spots I found the CUTEST top for Spring/Summer [in love with this bright pink]!! It’s not overly flowy and the ruffle details are just enough without going overboard!! And since it’s Easter, it was only necessary that I grabbed Reese’s Eggs, right?! And the top is flowy enough to hide the extra candy I’ve been eating!
And then I went into the beauty area and that is my weak spot… It’s where I start adding to cart thinking I will try all these fun new face masks, beauty products, mascara and then realize I need another nail polish and lip gloss, because I apparently don’t have enough… The good news is I LOVE LOVE LOVE this lip gloss and nail polish that I picked up!!! They are the perfect shades for Spring/Summer and a little budget friendly treat yourself! The lipgloss isn’t heavy and a subtle glossy color! And the nail polish is a cross between coral/pink and makes me wish I was on the beach drinking a Piña Colada!
I think we can all agree that we are ready for a little sunshine in our lives so when I saw this doormat, I totally caved… but I mean really, who can say no to cute doormats?! This little planter also brought a smile to my face, and I knew it would totally liven up my plant corner [where are my plant mom’s at?!]! And finally, we are moving in May and I wanted to grab some frames to put on our hallway wall! All of this for $50, yes please!
We’re getting ready for Spring over here, which means lots of time spent outdoors, whether that’s setting up my WFH office on the back deck or grilling for as many meals as possible [thanks, hubs!]. As more meals are taking place outdoors, I wanted to get some cute outdoor-safe plates [both small and large] and knew Target could hook me up. We also live out in the country, so our outdoor mats take a serious beating. I saw this wine rug, and it spoke to me [even though I’m 6 months pregnant]. We’ll meet again one day, wine. Last but not least, I wanted a lumbar support pillow like this at a great price for our seating area, and love the simple black and white look of it! Target, you never cease to amaze me.
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
Our favorite pastime? Sniffing all the candles! Okay okay, maybe it’s not our favorite pastime, but boy do we sure love finding the perfect scents! After giving TONS of candles, oils, and diffusers a whirl, we’ve narrowed down our favorites, just in time for cozy days this fall! As much as I wish this screen […]
The wonderful world of meal delivery services. Also known as, the easiest way to whip up delicious meals in a short amount time, no grocery runs required. If there’s one thing the LIY Team did this Summer [besides go for boat rides and drink seltzers] – it was read. Audio books, Kindle editions, good old fashion physical copies… you name it, we read it. While we went through a few that weren’t so great, we did find a few worth passing along! […]
