Disclosure: Thank you to Sephora and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post. All products were selected, purchased and loved by yours truly!
Confession time: I have put my hair through the wringer. If you’ve followed along for the past few years [thanks for hanging around!] then you’re probably already well aware of my mane’s journey. If you’re new around these parts [welcome!], settle in for story time. Several years ago, thanks to factors like stress and heat damage, I found myself battling hair loss at the ripe old age of 31. Fast forward to today, and I can confidently say my locks have shown some major improvements. While I’m no expert in this department, I’m sharing a few of my favorite tried and true products from Sephora that have helped me along the way.
What do I love more than great hair care products, you may ask? Snagging great hair care products at a discount. Insert the SEPHORA Spring Savings Event. Here’s what you need to know. Twice a year, Rouge, VIB, and Insiders reap the benefits of being a member of Sephora’s Beauty Insider program [a free bonus system that will earn you points every time you shop]. The event is kicking off now [April 21st] and running through April 29th for Sephora VIB members. Sephora Insiders [that’s all member tiers] can score savings from April 23rd through April 27th. VIB members get 15% off and Insiders score 10% off with code SPRINGSAVE. If you’re a Rouge member, you can save 20% off until 5/1. It gets better: the discount can be used as many times as you want, so you hit checkout as many times as your heart desires. You can also get free shipping if you use the code FREESHIP. Exclusions apply.
Ps. If you’re not a member yet [what are you waiting for?!], you can learn more and about the event and how to sign up for free here to unlock 10% off starting 4/23. Now let’s get this party started.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub // Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 // Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance™ Shampoo // Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance™ Conditioner // Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme // Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil
We’ll kick things off before you even step foot into the shower or tub. The Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub dissolves dead skin cells and styling product buildup. Apply it to your dry scalp for 10 minutes and rinse! Basically an exfoliating treatment for your scalp. Next up is the Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3. I use this treatment 1-3 times a week. You’ll want to apply this to towel dried hair and by “towel dried” I mean wring your hair out to the best of your ability and apply for about 10 minutes, or long enough to do your other shower business [important stuff like shaving or singing]. Follow it up with Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance™ Shampoo and Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance™ Conditioner. Seeing a trend here? Moving on to Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme. Use this on towel dried hair before you blow dry to fight the dry frizzies and protect color treated hair. Pro Tip: a little bit goes a long way, so tread lightly. Wrap things up with Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil. You can use a drop of this before drying, after drying, or both. The world is your oyster, but either way, this gem protects hair color, fights frizz, and provides heat protection.
Moving on to styling products and tools. You know, for the days we actually style our hair [which are few and far between around here lately]. Much like the Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil, Moroccanoil Treatment can be used on damp or dry hair. Both smell delightful and do wonders for styling and protecting. You truly can’t go wrong with either. Once again, you can protect your locks from damaging heat prior to drying [and/or afterwards] with Moroccanoil Perfect Defense Heat Protectant, but I prefer to use on dry hair before styling with a hot tool. Speaking of hot tools, my guilty pleasure needs the recognition it deserves. The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is a bit of a splurge, but all the more reason to snatch it up with your 10-20% discount with code SPRINGSAVE. It gets the job done wicked fast and works magic on thick, coarse hair. I’ve noticed less frizz and more shine since I started using it about a year ago! Moving on. After styling, I wrap things up with Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray. The scent alone is worth every penny, but tousling this in will add volume, texture, and long-lasting hold.
And there you have it, friends. If you’re on a hair-healing journey, remember to be patient. There’s no overnight transformation treatment [unless you go full-blown ‘07 Britney, which would be understandable, all things considered]. I hope you’re left feeling informed, healthy-hair inspired, and if nothing else, encouraged knowing that if I can do it, you can do it. Now RUN [don’t walk] to the SEPHORA Spring Savings Event to stock up.
