Winter Coats for Every Occasion

January 3, 2020

Long, short, casual, dressy, and everything in between! Yep, today we’re talking about all different kinds of Winter coats to get you through the season! While my favorite type of Winter coat comes in the form of a bikini on the beach of a tropical island, I haven’t quite convinced Shawn that running a beach bar is in our near future. So for now, I continue to welcome Winter with [pale, fleece covered] open arms and find joy in the gorgeous white snow. If you followed along on this week’s Instagram stories, you learned that while I am a fan of the snow, I am certainly not a fan of the ice [I’ll let you in on a secret: my video doorbell caught my falling… HARD]. Apparently we need to invest in some more ice melt ASAP. I digress…

Back to the coats. Chances are, you’re not going to be going to a wedding wearing the same coat that you go exploring outdoors or heading to the gym in [2020 fitness goals!]. So if you’re in the market for a new Winter coat [of any sort], read on to see a few options that will keep you toasty for the next few months!

Sam Edelman Faux Fur Teddy Coat [TTS, wearing size small] // Halogen® Wool Blend Beret  // Jeans [size down one] // Booties [true to size]

Teddy coats are on trend again this Winter, and I’m 100% okay with this super cozy trend. If I can go out in public feeling like I’m wearing a blanket while looking put together, I call that a win! And let’s not forget this hat that immediately makes me want to book a trip to Paris. While it may not keep my head very warm, it sure looks cute! Should I book the trip? I say “oui.”

J.Crew New City Coat  [Size down if in between – wearing size 2 in Heather Dusk] // Treasure & Bond Fringed Scarf // Halogen® Rib Knit Cashmere Gloves // Jeans [size down one]// Booties [true to size]

This coat has been one of my absolutely favorites for a few years now [that’s how you know it’s good- they keep bringing it back year after year]. I have it in three colors, and am always so tempted to go back for more. It’s a great everyday coat since it can be worn with a pair of jeans, with leggings, or with a dress to a wedding! Add on a scarf and a pair of warm gloves, and you’ve got the put-together winter look taken care of!

Soft-Brushed Peacoat [TTS, wearing size small] // Classic Plaid Scarf  [wearing in Stewart Tartan Black Red] // Jeans [size down one] // Booties [true to size]

If you’re looking for a shorter coat with a button closure, this soft-brushed peacoat might be just what you’re looking for! It has a classic look to it that’s in style year after year after year. Plus, it’s available in several colors and looks just as cute unbuttoned as it does buttoned up!

Maralyn & Me Hooded Puffer Jacket [true to size, wearing small] // Jeans [size down one] https://shopstyle.it/l/bci1r // Booties [true to size]

Moving onto insulated coats for those extra cold days, this pretty burgundy coat will definitely keep your top half toasty! It has a stand-up collar on the inside to keep your neck more protected from the wind! And did I mention that the color is technically called Zinfandel, which is a wine, which is a win. Therefore, this coat is a win. That’s Erin math for you!

The North Face Metropolis III Down Parka [TTS, wearing size small in Taupe Green] // Jeans [size down one] // Booties [true to size]

Last, and most definitely not least, the ultimate coat for you folks that live in areas that get quite cold [and who spend time outdoors!]. This coat is gold! Technically, it’s green, but worth it’s wait in gold due to the warmth! I love The North Face brand for their quality pieces, and this parka holds true. It’s a longer length to keep more of your body warm, and has a built-in hood so you’re not having to worry about where your hat is. Now if only we could get them to create a coat with built-in gloves…

What’s your winter coat style? Are you more keep it casual but keep me warm, or dressed to the nines? Clearly I like to dabble in both areas 😉 Stay warm, friends!
