Our favorite four letter word? C-O-Z-Y. Now that we’ve put away the sequins and sparkle from NYE, we’re turning to all things cozy to get us through the cold month of January. There’s never been a better month to cuddle up on the couch with a warm cup of cocoa, binge watch the latest Netflix craze, and enjoy the great cold outdoors from the indoors. Whether cozy is your everyday getup or your weekend look, we can’t get enough of the soft and comfy pieces that we’re living in right now. The LIY Team scoured the internet [in our cozies] to find pieces we could share with you to make sure you’re the coziest you can be, all Winter long.
There’s nothing cozier than a sweatshirt that literally reads cozy. When I saw this catchy little phrase [coined after “stir crazy” of course] I had to get it. The inside of this sweatshirt matches the outside words because holy cow, cozy is right. So soft. The minute I put it on I knew I wasn’t taking it off for the day. I would just recommend sizing up one as it does run a little small.
Did somebody say teddy bear? They at least said teddy coat. This Amazon find is the epitome of cozy in my book. It is the same fluffy cloud-like material both inside and out and encourages snuggles upon snuggles, even if it’s with yourself. You can wear it zipped up as an actual coat or leave it unzipped for more of a casual cardigan / sweater type feel. If you like soft, I have no doubts you’ll like this.
Upon slipping this heavenly sweatshirt on it immediately became my new favorite piece of clothing — no exaggeration! American Eagle has such a talent for creating the softest sweatshirts EVER. I love the oversized cut for all the comfy vibes, and I am a huge fan of the mock neck which adds a little trendiness to the piece! And bonus points for being legging friendly!
Trend Alert!! Turtle necks are IN! This ribbed tunic is in such a soft and cozy fabric, you will want to wear it all winter long! I love the brushed texture and the cuffed sleeves, plus it is long enough to pair with leggings. This is one cozy piece you can wear out with jeans but also won’t want to take off when you get home and switch to sweatpants.
I am deeming this piece the perfect layering tee! It is so soft and cozy, but in the lightest weight fabric that would easily layer well under a poncho, cardigan or jacket. Honestly, it’s so lightweight I feel like this tee and I have become one! I paired it with sweatpants for ultra at home coziness, but I have also paired it with jeans for all day comfort!
I own two colors of this exact pair of sweatpants — they’re that good! Cozy up in these joggers and you’ll be ready to binge watch 3 entire seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! I’d give the comfort level a 12 out of 10. Plus — they have pockets! Yay!
I have recently become a huge L.L.Bean fan and this cozy pullover is no exception! There is something so wonderful about the fabrics of each top I own from L.L.Bean! I don’t know how to describe it other than, you absolutely get what you pay for! They’re such nice thick, high quality items! I love the warmth and cozy fit of this pullover, as well as this subtle color. Since I’m normally someone who defaults to black everything, I appreciate this muted tone while still adding some color to my wardrobe. I am typically between a M or L. I opted for a M here and like the way it fits, or I could have sized up for a bit of a more relaxed fit. 2 thumbs up from me!
When thinking about completing a cozy outfit, I definitely think of adding cozy socks! I was excited to give these SmartWool Cable Socks a try! Here’s my thinking – will I wear these socks time and time again with boots? Yes, absolutely! Do I think they accomplished my goal of super cozy? I do not. But- that probably what makes them more practical for everyday use! I don’t love them for cozy lounging around the house because they’re not fluffy overly cozy socks. What they are is the perfect weight for wearing with boots when you want great, high quality socks that won’t make your feet sweat and take up an obscene amount of space inside your boot. Still a great purchase for me, but I’ll stick to cozier socks for lounging!
Hands down the coziest pullover I own!! I have worn this pullover so many times since it’s arrived you would think I didn’t own any other clothes!! I love that it isn’t too bulky or boxy but it’s also crazy warm and it has POCKETS!! This is a great alternative for the Patagonia pullover we rave about but slightly more budget friendly!! Can’t recommend this one enough!!
Oh my COZY!! These socks are probably the warmest socks I have ever owned! I struggle big time in the Winter with cold feet and the minute I put these on it was like walking on warm fluffy clouds!! My daughter even snuck them on and wouldn’t take them off! Keep those feet nice and toasty this Winter with these!!
Stars Above – Cozy Plush Sleep Cardigan [size down, wearing XS/S] // Stars Above Women’s Rib Pajama Tank Top [TTS, wearing medium] // Stars Above Women’s Striped Perfectly Cozy Lounge Jogger Pants [TTS, wearing medium]
This cardigan stopped me dead in my tracks during my most recent Target run. Its resemblance to the famous Barefoot Dreams cardi with a budget-friendly price tag sold me after one feel. But can we talk about the entire Stars Above collection? I think it deserves more credit because it is C-O-Z-Y, folks [trust me, I felt every single article of clothing in the section]. I also snagged these joggers available in tons of colors] because- let’s face it- a girl can never have too many sweatpants.
Coatigan [ TTTS, wearing XS in Charcoal] // PJs
I am loving this “Coatigan” because it is all the comfort of a cardigan with the warmth of a coat! I love the long duster length and and the waffle knit gives it that cozy vibe! I typically wear it around the house with my pjs but recently I have been keeping it at the office to throw over my outfit on those chilly days! Definitely a win for me! Plus Lou and Grey is the hub for all things cozy! Check out their matching sets–to die for!
I LOOOVE this sweatshirt. I’d heard great things about Athleta products and finally got my first item, and I’m impressed! It’s sort of a sturdy material with some structure to it, rather than a sweatshirt that just hangs loose. It’s also quite thick! I love the size of the funnel neck [bring on those brisk winter days!] and the side slits. It’s long enough for leggings but could easily be paired with jeans as well! I’m giving this sweatshirt two thumbs up!
