If there’s one word that continues to describe life [for me and everybody else it seems] it’s “busy”. Adulthood has certainly taught me that time is not slowing down and every day a new responsibility seems to pop up that has us being pulled in new directions going every which way. While I could say I hate it, I don’t. I love being on the go and the feeling of needing to be places [well, most of the time, there are days where I LIVE for not leaving the house] and as I’ve gotten used to living this faster pace of life, there’s been a few things I’ve learned along the way. Today, we’re diving into a few of those things.
- Start your day with a plan and a purpose. This is huge for me. Every morning I wake up and after spending 20 minutes or so in quiet time, I get out my gratitude / goals journal along with my planner and I write it all down. This helps me have a mental grasp around what the day entails, how to prioritize the tasks or appointments and then act accordingly. By being prepared, you are able to plan the most efficient plan of action for the day which will hopefully gain you a few extra hours in the evening to sit back and relax!
- For days on the go, dress for comfort while still looking put together enough that it will be okay if you run into somebody you may know. You know what I’m talking about, we’ve all been there. We’re in a hurry to get out of the house so we hurriedly throw on our paint splattered t-shirt from middle school and “distressed” leggings [aka, leggings that have been worn once a few too many thousand times] and then pray like crazy on the way to wherever we’re going that we will know nobody in sight. Good news friends – you can look cute while not having to spend a lot to get to that point. I picked up this sweatshirt and vest both on Facebook Marketplace and both items were under $20 each.

- Be easily accessible. There’s nothing worse than being on the go and your phone keeps blowing up which results in you digging furiously through your purse repeatedly. Shawn and a few girls on the team have been telling me for awhile that I need to invest in an Apple Watch but I kept resisting the advice. After thinking how wonderful it may just be to be able to simply look down at my wrist to see who needs me and what they need without having to find my phone, unlock it and then deal with it, I could stay “aware” while out and about but without all of the hassle. I also picked this watch up from Facebook Marketplace [I saved 49% which is insane!] and it was here within days or ordering. I’m excited to learn all of the capabilities that this watch can do but I can already sense the sigh of relief it has me feeling.

These three tips may be simple pieces of advice but when practiced they can have a big impact on your day. If you haven’t yet, I highly encourage you to check out Facebook Marketplace for your shopping needs! I have been nothing but impressed with everything I have bought from there and the amount of money I have saved while doing so. You may have seen this post where I shared some goodies I bought from Facebook Marketplace [this Dyson cordless vacuum still being my favorite] and just like my previous experience, this one was a breeze. The items ship directly from the retailer to your door within days which I think we can all agree that faster = better.
