The pool is officially open and that means one thing. Ohhhh poool boyyyyy [aka Shawn and the puppies]. Just kidding, that’s not what that means- although wouldn’t that be nice! What it DOES mean is that it’s time to get the girls together and have ourselves a pool party! I invited the LIY team over recently to dip our toes in the water and test out some new swimsuits and coverups that we’ve had our eyes on! I don’t think any of them were complaining when I told them that the office was going to be poolside for the day 😉
I’ve been blown away by all of the cute swimwear we’ve been seeing this year, and have also been blown away by all the mac & cheese and wine I’ve been indulging in lately. Can we replace beach bodies with mac & cheese bodies, please? Whether our beach bodies are ready or not, summer is here [or close!], and it’s time to get our pool [or beach] side looks ready! So I figured what better way than to get the whole team involved to show you several styles we’re loving! And you’re probably going to notice a trend- one pieces are IN!
To do this, we turned to one of our tried and true faves- Nordstrom! One piece swimsuits, two piece swimsuits, full coverage, minimal coverage, long coverups, short coverups, barely there coverups, they’ve got it all! So I knew the team would have no problem picking items that fit each of their styles and bodies! Thankfully Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns, so we were each able to order a few sizes to see what would work best for us with no concern about returning what didn’t fit! While we waited a few days for our items to arrive [country living!], if you live close to a Nordstrom, you could even do order online pick up in store OR curb side pick up when you sign up for The Nordy Club! Talk about convenience!

Apparently I’m seeing all things purple this season! And I don’t see it stopping anytime soon! As soon as I laid eyes on this suit I knew it was coming to my doorstep. The color, the beading, the plunging neckline – I was sold! And then I saw the matching coverup, and knew they were meant to be together, and calling out to me to bring them together. And to that, I could not say no 😉

How rockin’ is this new mama in her swimsuit and coverup [similar style]?! This coverup takes a simple black dress and adds a twist to it [literally] with a tie at the bottom for a bit of added flare! And the flare doesn’t stop there- take a look at this suit Becca found! Not only does it have a lace up front, but surprise, it ties up the back as well!

Hannah also chose a black coverup dress , and the flowiness of this one could not be more perfect! And um, did I mention it has pockets?! Underneath her coverup, Hannah picked a one piece with mesh insets and dang- that girl rocked it! I’m not sure what my favorite part of this suit is- the mesh, the criss cross back, or the color!

Cassidy takes Living In Yellow very seriously, as shown by her color selection 😉 She’s our team skort queen, and found a skort swimsuit coverup to rock this summer! She paired it with a simple yellow swimsuit for the ultimate LIY poolside outfit!

If there’s a romper available, you better believe Claire is going to know about it! And you couldn’t hide this one from her for long! The ruffle sleeves tied together perfectly with the little ruffles on her hot pink swimsuit! Claire’s normally a black swimsuit gal, but went with the pink and was so glad she did once she got it on!

Apparently Lauren is the brave soul of the team, choosing to make a two piece happen this summer! I guess she hasn’t been eating as much mac & cheese as I have! But I do love this basic black suit she picked, with the simple bow on the top! She picked a flowy white tunic coverup, that’s just long enough to keep things covered without being overly lengthy!
