What I wouldn’t give to be back in Gulf Shores right now with my family. It was such a fun time of relaxation and time together. Waking up to the ocean wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever had to experience either. Is there really anything better than the sound of waves as you sip on your morning coffee? I think not. While I plan on bringing you a full Gulf Shores recap soon, today I’m here to share a little bit about what I packed!
When traveling with my family, I like to pack pretty casually. There’s just something about traveling with 3 kids under the age of 10 that brings down the need for heels and pricey white pants and all of the things you like to avoid when chasing after children. Thankfully I had just picked up some cute affordable options from Walmart and knew they would be perfect for the trip. I have become a sucker for their Time & Tru brand recently — everything I have tried of this brand I’ve really liked [and have received so many compliments on]! Not only are the prices budget-friendly, I have had great luck with the comfort, fit and style of the pieces. As a part of their We Dress America campaign, Walmart is working hard to bring trends to the everyday woman. I love that we can bring in a mix of high end and affordable options here at Living in Yellow as I am a fan of both spectrums. I’m all about a great price when I can get one, especially for seasonal looks, vacation outfits also falling into that category. Additionally, I love working with companies who are actively doing good in their communities and globally.
Without further ado, here are some fun finds, all from Walmart that I wore on vacation and can’t recommend more!
First up, this adorable Time and Tru – Women’s Embroidered Smock Neck Top with my new favorite pair of under $15 Women’s 4.5 Denim Shorts! It’s hard to find shorts that are actually comfortable and aren’t too short or too long. This pair in mind is perfect and that price tag — I can’t handle it. A definite season must!
Time and Tru – Women’s Embroidered Smock Neck Top [true to size, wearing in small] // Women’s 4.5 Denim Shorts! [size up, wearing in 4] // Evelyn Laser Cut Cork Wedge [true to size] // Time & Tru – Time & Tru Striped Straw Circle Tote
Next up, we all know it’s not a vacation without fun accessories. A fun beach hat and straw tote are two items I always throw in my suitcase before heading to anywhere with sand. They are two easy ways to make you feel like your beach look is just a little bit elevated while not having to try too hard. When I spotted this Daydreaming Floppy Hat I knew it was making the trip with me.
Same goes with this cutie — I used this bag ALL trip long. For the beach, at the pool, with my outfits for dinner at night, whatever I needed it for, it was there for me [true love]. It has an interior pouch for your phone or other necessities and I love the different color combos that it comes in! Probably my favorite under $20 bag I’ve ever owned!
Last but certainly not least, no vacation is complete without at least one cute sundress. Not only is it colorful, long enough for you taller girls, but it’s also fully lined and extremely comfortable. For $14.88 this may be the best quality dress I’ve ever purchased!
Time and Tru Women’s Woven Notch Neck Shift Dress [size down if in between, wearing in small but could have done smaller] // Time and Tru – Women’s Denim Jacket – Walmart.com[true to size, wearing in small] // Evelyn Laser Cut Cork Wedge [true to size] // Time & Tru – Time & Tru Striped Straw Circle Tote
There we have it — several affordable beach must-haves for whatever you have planned next! Don’t forget to check out Walmart for your seasonal items or some goodies for your next vacay! I’ve rounded up some other favorites below!

When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
