When the sunshine comes out in Indiana in February, it immediately gets me in a springtime mindset. Disregard the fact that it’s still in the 30s. That’s neither here nor there. I want sunshine, warm weather, green grass, blooming flowers, and finally, sandals. If you’re living in the south, you’re probably reading this thinking, “I could never live somewhere where I couldn’t wear sandals year round.” Girlfriend, I hear you. And that’s why I make vacations happen. So I can trick my mind and my feet into thinking they live somewhere warm.
I mean, have you seen the warm weather shoe selection at Nordstrom lately? Let me tell ya- it. is. good. From sandals to wedges, I want it all. Thankfully, Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns on ALL purchases. Meaning you can try out a ton of shoes and only keep your favorites. My bank account is always hopeful that I have zero favorites, but somehow I always end up in love. Plus, if you’re lucky enough to live near a Nordstrom store, you can buy online and pick up in store, or even reserve items online to try on in store so they don’t sell out before you get to them! Give me all the sandals!
Shawn and I recently went on a cruise to the Caribbean, and are going on a Spring Break trip with my family in a few weeks, so packing is fresh on my mind. The space that warm weather shoes take up in a suitcase is 100 times better than shoes for a cold weather trip. Winter boots = not travel friendly. And when I think about it, I’ve realized that four pairs of shoes cover all of my bases for these trips. So if you’ve got an upcoming vacation to somewhere warm, A] can I hide in your suitcase, and B] check out these shoes for your trip! These are the four shoes to take on your next warm weather vacation: sandals, heels, wedges, and tennis shoes.
Treasure & Bond Sannibel Platform Wedge Sandal [size up .5] // Gibson x Hi Sugarplum! Santa Fe Rickrack Off the Shoulder Top [TTS, wearing in XS] // Caslon Rolled Denim Boyfriend Shorts [Size down one]
I first bought these wedges last year, and I must not have been the only one who fell head over heels in love, because they came out with even more colors this year! Super comfortable, neutral enough [if you go with the tan] to match any color in your outfit, and great quality! Wedges are a quick way to dress up any look for dinner while being comfortable all evening long!
A simple pair of sandals is key to have on hand to just throw on when heading to the pool, out to lunch, or a casual dinner out! This style has been my favorite for a long time, and I can’t turn down a little leopard. Meow.
These are my absolute favorite open toe heel. Hands down. They’re comfortable and elongate your legs! They’re available in so many colors, but I chose the nude so it’s the most versatile! You never know how fancy you may want to get on vacation, but whether you rock these with a sparkly dress or a casual pair of denim and a cute top, you can’t go wrong with these!
For travel days, I don’t love to wear sandals [cold feet syndrome over here]. I’d rather pack a pair of super comfortable tennis shoes for airport and airplane life. These ones are like walking on clouds, and can be tossed on with a pair of jeans, shorts, or everyone’s favorite joggers 😉 I literally find myself questioning if I remembered to put my shoes on when I slip my feet into these, that’s how light they are.
There you have it vacation goers – the 4 shoes that will get you through ALL of your vacation adventures. And now for the real question though when it comes to footwear [or lack thereof] who’s ready dip those toes in the sand?
