Disclosure: Thank you to Lord & Taylor and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.
Spring, is that you? One small glimpse of sunshine and I’m busting out my sandals and bright colors. While Indiana may not be quite ready for my shift in wardrobe change [yes, it’s still 30 degrees here with small sightings of snow here and there] but mentally, I am THERE. As you should hopefully by now, one thing that I never shy away from, especially when it comes to spring dressing, is color. If it’s any shade of pink, green, blue and of course – yellow, you know I’m all about it.
When I spotted this jacket from Lord & Taylor it was game over. A bright, beautiful, perfect shade of yellow jacket that I can wear with virtually anything, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It’s as if the gray Indiana skies heard my cries and granted me my wildest wish in wardrobe form. As soon as I hit add to cart I knew I had to add some additional spring pieces to mix and match with it. Thankfully Lord & Taylor is killing the spring dressing game right now. Proof – they have two other yellow jackets that I am tempted to get my hands on: this boucle beauty and a similar duster style jacket [in yellow of course]! While my exact one is unfortunately sold out at the moment, those two will get the same job done! I have found myself checking Lord & Taylor often for either great sales or trendy new styles.
Now let’s get back to the star of the show – the beloved yellow jacket of my dreams. It’s time to let her shine by showing how to wear her 3 different ways [dressed up, dressed down and dressed for work]!
For An Event
Calvin Klein Pleated Floral Bodycon Dress [size up, wearing in 4] // Similar: Guess Floral Off The Shoulder Mini Dress // Guess Floral Embroidered Bodycon Dress // Tahari Arthur S. Levine Winged Collar Open Topper Jacket [true to size, wearing in 2] // Sam Edelman Yaro Sandals [true to size]
If there is one thing that we know about spring is that it sure brings its fair share of events along with it. Whether it’s a wedding, bridal or baby shower, graduation, Easter, Mother’s Day [phew, and that’s just naming a few] there always seems to be a reason to get a little fancy. I love how well this jacket pairs with a body-con dress. The tighter body of the dress bodes well with the drape of the jacket. Additionally, if you have a sleeveless dress it’s nice to have a topper as spring can still be chilly depending on where you live [slowly raises hand….]
For The Office
Tahari Arthur S. Levine Winged Collar Open Topper Jacket [true to size, wearing in 2] // H Halston Lace Detail T-Shirt [true to size, wearing in small] // Tahari Arthur S. Levine Striped Self-Tie Paperbag Pants [size up, wearing in 4] // Sam Edelman Yaro Sandals [true to size]
Next up, the work place. I am a huge believer that our work wear should reflect our personality. We have to go there every day, why not let our style shine?! Pairing this jacket over top of a great work top, like the lace one featured above, with a pair of paperbag pants is a trendy way to bring style [and warmth] to the office!
For A Day [or Night] On The Go
Tahari Arthur S. Levine Winged Collar Open Topper Jacket [true to size, wearing in 2] // Democracy Striped Bell-Sleeve Top [true to size, wearing in small] // Democracy Skinny Ankle Jeans [true to size]// Charles by Charles David Nicola Back Zip Booties [true to size]
Last but certainly not least, the jacket dressed down. While the piece itself may lend itself to a dressier look, there is no reason why you can’t pair it with a comfy top and a great pair of denim. Top it off with booties and you’ve got yourself a head turning look while running errands on a Saturday or for a night out with your girlfriends.
For more spring jacket styles, be sure to check out Lord & Taylor’s huge selection! Red, green, purple or blue – no matter the shade of what you decide on, they are all bound to put a smile on your face while facing the new season ahead!
For your Pinning pleasure…
