LOOKBOOK

For Him: From Business to the Bar

October 26, 2018

It turns out that most of your men shop the same way mine does – through us. Aka, we buy it all, they wear it. I don’t know if it’s because they would rather be cleaning out the gutters than going to the mall, but whatever the case, Shawn can typically never be found shopping for himself. However, just because he isn’t the one hitting “checkout” doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care how his outfit looks. Every morning I answer the same question of “does this look okay?!” and fortunately 99.9% of the time the answer is yes.

There are typically two things Shawn cares about when adding new pieces to his wardrobe – price and wearability. A smart man I must say. If something is out of his budget or if he can only find a single need for an item, he most likely isn’t going to buy it. However, when an item is good quality, doesn’t cost a fortune and can be worn for several occasions, it’s a much easier sell. Over the past two years we’ve started shopping at Nordstrom for the majority of his clothing needs. The free shipping and free returns entice him just as much as they do me, plus their brands that he has grown to love [1901, J.Crew, GH Bass, Nordstrom brand, etc] keep him lookin’ fresh and relevant 24/7. You may remember this post from a couple of weeks ago and because it was so well received from you ladies, I thought I’d bring you an additional look that is easy for any guy to pull off at the workplace or at the bar.

Let’s start with the business casual look –

Tech-Smart Slim Fit Multi Pane Sport Shirt [true to size] // similar jeans // similar shoes

A classic button up is always a great option for any guy. By simply tucking it in to either work pants or a nice pair of denim and adding a belt, you have a polished and sophisticated outfit for that 8-5 life. I love that this particular shirt has hints of fun splashed across it thanks to the colorful stripes. Business doesn’t have to be so serious after all.

Time to bring it down a notch. Getting drinks with the guys after work is as easy as 1-2-change of shoes! Simply untuck the shirt, throw on some comfortable yet still stylish shoes and your man is ready to roll. The only thing he has to worry about now is if he wants his beer in a bottle or draught.

Tech-Smart Slim Fit Multi Pane Sport Shirt [true to size] // similar jeans // G.H. Bass & Co. Buck 2.0 Plain Toe Derby

Whether you’re shopping just because or are getting an early start on your Christmas list, don’t forget to hit up Nordstrom for all of your mans [okay and yours] needs. Shop some of Shawn’s favorites below —

As much as I love shorts season [aka summer] I sometimes despise the actual “denim shorts season” itself. Shorts can be tricky. Sometimes they are too tight, too short, too loose and the list of all of the discomforts of shorts goes on. Today, we’re here to put some of those discomforts to rest and […]

If there’s one trend I’m happily hopping on board with, it’s the white sneaker rage. Maybe they never went out of style, maybe it’s more socially acceptable than ever to wear tennies with every. single. outfit. Either way, I’m here for it.
