How I’m Preparing For 30

This whole “I’m almost 30” thing is not going over so well with my brain. For the past few years I kept saying that I was excited to be 30 — that 30 is the new 20 — everybody has everything figured out by the time they reach that age — the grass really is greener, etc. And here I am, one year away from turning the big 3-0 and guess what? It doesn’t feel like the new 20, I still don’t have everything figured out, and I sure as heck don’t feel like my body is getting any younger [#cellulite].
With these upcoming realities I figured it was time to pull in the reigns on this whole age thing and start putting into practice daily habits that will make 30 look and feel a whole let better. Here are 5 simple yet effective habits that I’m putting into practice now so that when I look back in a few years I’ll be thankful that I did.
1. Water.
I often overlook the importance of drinking lots and lots of water. From great skin to decreased appetite to increased energy, the list goes on and on. It’s a daily struggle to drink as much as I should however I’m working on it. I have recently started infusing my water with raspberries, blueberries, and limes and it has made all of the difference in the world. I now look forward to drinking this delicious goodness and my body loves me for it.
While perusing Target the other week I stumbled upon the most amazing dispaly of vitamins that I ever did see. Cute packaging sucks me in every single time. But then I started reading deeper into those pretty little labels and read things like probiotics, Vitamin C, and other words that I knew were good for me. These Olly gummies come in all sorts of flavors and varieties. I purchased the Women’s Multi Vitamin, Purely Probiotic, and Undeniable Beauty blend. I have never been one to take vitamins but I figure the time is now. I am so excited for my insides to feel just as great [if not better] than my outsides. Mad props Olly for making me excited about my health.

Olly is currently offering the chance for one of you to win a Day Spa package for you & a friend, a 6 months supply of Olly Vitamins, and a personal wellness consultation with Olly‘s resident nutritionist! 3. Check-ups. I’ll be the first to admit that I am the most horrible scheduler of appointments that I don’t want to make. If it’s something I don’t want to do, I simply don’t do it. Unfortunately I have learned that’s not necessarily the best way to be proactive about your health. As I head into my 30’s I vow to make it a priority to schedule those appointments that nobody wants to make. My palms are sweating already.
4. Wrinkle Cream. I’m using it y’all. Eye wrinkle cream, face wrinkle cream, if it says “wrinkle” on it I’m lathering it everywhere. I never thought I would be one to care that much about those little lines but the more I see them appear the more I disapprove. Except smile lines. I like those happy little things 🙂 It’s better to take care of the problem before it arises instead of after I’m a saggy mess. Speaking of, bras. I need to buy better ones. Carry on.
5. Fun.

Last but not least, the best way to stay young is to act young. I never want to stop having fun no matter the age. While I do want to up the responsibilty factor in several areas of my life, this is one I’m perfectly fine with leaving the same 😉 Just hand over the glow sticks, temp tats, and prosecco and this soon to be 30 year old will be forever 21. Except with a better wardrobe.
What are you doing to help stay forever young?
