Over Memorial Day weekend we had a couple of days with absolutely zero plans. One of those where we had nowhere we had to be and nothing that we had to do. Naturally I decided to fill our time with food which is my typical go-to in all life situations. I decided early on in the weekend that I wanted to make an epic meat and cheese platter for us to snack on so that’s exactly what I did. I had never put together a spread like this and while I probably should have planned to do this during a time when other people would be around to eat it [we are still working on finishing it off] it was delicious and awesome. Because I had to google “how to make a meat and cheese platter” I figured I would share what I threw on mine in case you are one who would have to google the same thing. Platter idiots unite!
Before going into everything I purchased just know that I may have went a little overboard and you most likely don’t neeed to buy every single thing that I did below, but hopefully it will give you a few different ideas of what to include. Alright, you ready? Lets do this.
As you can see from above, here’s what I purchased [all from a local grocery store]:
– Variety of cheese [extra sharp cheddar, muenster, roasted garlic, manchego, and blue cheese]
– Variety of meats [pancetta, prosciutto, salami, sausage bites]
-Dips [extra sharp cheddar spread / Skinny cow cream cheese]
– Crackers / Bagel Chips / Italian Bread
– Olive oil to dip bread
– Nuts
– Raspberries and Blueberries
– Chocolate
Having a variety of textures and flavors is key – add in the sweet elements to offset all of the salty. Add in some crunchy items to balance the soft. Pair with a few bottles of your favorite wines and you are set.

Mouth drooling yet? Mine too. What’s your favorite item to put on a meat and cheese platter?
