With the world slowly but surely getting back to “normal”, several of us here at LIY have been swapping out our work-from-home sweatpants for back-to-work dress pants! The ladies on the LIY Team have been LOVING the new arrivals at Express lately. From work wear to a girls night out [and loungewear too!], Express seems to have it all. The ladies of LIY recently went on a virtual shopping spree and snagged a few new arrivals to share with Y-O-U. So here you have it friends, 20+ pieces from Express to take from Summer to Fall!

Erin’s Express Finds

I wasn’t 100% sure about this top when I put it on, however, after wearing it for a little while, I decided she’s a keeper. It feels like sweatshirt material [super comfy!] yet can be dressed up for the office or paired with jeans for a girls night out! The sleeve detail is so intricate and fabulous!

Two things I’d like to draw your attention to: 1) These jeans. If you are a fan of high waisted jeans, these are a must try. I was so impressed with the fabric [super soft] and I love the fit. Slightly slouchy but not too much. 2) These heels. I’ve fallen hard on the braided heel trend train and I hope it doesn’t stop anytime soon. They are easy to dress up or down and make a statement themselves! Love!

When I worked outside of the home, I always turned to the Express Portofino shirts for my work wear. I find that they don’t wrinkle easy, are nice and lightweight and have a great slimming fit! This striped version is fun and eye-catching for something a little different.

Somebody get me an accordion to play, this girl is ready [why does this top makes me feel like I should be playing one?!] I love this top a lot, however, the pants [yikes] are throwing me in these photos. If you’re looking for a fun work top to switch things up a bit, give this cutie a try!

For years, I have been wearing the Express v-neck camis, so when I spotted this new style with the chain detail, I had to try it out. It turns out I am obsessed with it. It gives it just enough “extra” to make it a top you can wear alone but is still very layerable!

Sweater weather is quickly approaching here in Indiana and this cardigan is here for it. I am a huge fan of camel in the fall, and add in some texture and I’m sold. It looks great with black or white and can go from the office to dinner without any adjusting!

Wow, she’s a soft one. Again, I wasn’t totally sure what I would think, but when I slipped her on I instantly threw her in my luggage to take out East with me for a dinner out. I love the dramatic sleeve, light pink color, and super soft fabric!

I am fully loving bringing bits and pieces of the 90s back into my wardrobe, with a fresh and modern take on nostalgic styles! Both my middle school self and my current self would agree that this outfit is both fun and chic! I love the trendy look of the wide leg jean, and the comfort that a comes with a little extra room in the leg! Since the pants make a big impact, I kept it simple with my top, and I love this one shoulder stretchy tee. And to tie it all together a dainty belt and strappy heels that show some foot to elongate my not-so-long legs! [Hi, I am only 5’0”] These jeans come in Short, Regular and Long, so you can rock them no matter your height!

It’s been a lonnnng time since I’ve shopped at Express for dressier/work wear items and let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed! If you’re on the petite side [hi, me! I’m 5’2”] wearing a pair of bootcut or wider leg bottoms adds some height and elongates those legs! This pair of dress pants is so incredibly comfortable, a pull on which makes it easier to get in and out of without the hassle of a button, and so flattering on! I paired them with this billowy sleeved top and I’m ready for the work day!

It’s no secret I’m allll about the fun sleeve details and it wouldn’t be a successful trip to Express without finding one [or two ;)]! I wasn’t sure about this one but decided to give it a try! I love that the pleats are just enough to jouj up the outfit but not overwhelming, and despite the armholes dropping down lower the material covers everything, so no bra showing! I paired it with these new fave pants and I’m loving this desert neutral color combo!

Looking for the perfect pant to transition back to the office with? This is it. Stretchy, pull on, high waist band and a silky smooth material? Yes, please! They’re a looser fit throughout the leg so you’ll be feeling cool and comfortable all day long! I paired them with this simple dot print vneck top that can be worn alone or under a blazer! But also, full disclosure – I’m probably going to cut the strings off, ha!  Express for the win for back-to office comfortable looks!

The perfect look for a Fall wedding 😍 🍂 Seriously, I wore this to a wedding this past weekend and felt great in it! Jumpsuits can seem like more of a casual piece, but I think the silk really elevates this one and gives it a formal feel! I am 5’4” and think if I was any shorter it would be too long. Snag this one up!!

Aren’t these pants fun for the office?! They are dressy, but have some fun elements to “jazz” them up a bit! They are actually really comfortable and come in 4 colors! I got the regular length for 5’4” but they are almost too long.

Fitted Ribbed Sweater + Pencil Skirt Set [Size up one if in between, wearing in size small]

Erin had this little number at the office and I just had to try it on! I have a wedding coming up this fall and thought this could be perfect if the weather is a little chilly! This green is such a fun pop of color during the fall season. I also love the fact that it is two pieces so I can mix and match if I want! It is form fitting but not tight [phew!] but I would size up if you go between sizes at all.

I am allll about comfort, especially when it comes to workwear. Throughout this year I have realized, if it’s not comfy…. I’m not wearing it! When I found these work jogger pants, I knew they were going to be a closet staple for me! These versatile pants can take you from work to play and are even comfortable enough for wearing while working from home! I styled them with a black muscle tank for a more casual look and a button up for a more professional look! I love love love the fact that they are high waisted and are wrinkle resistant!

Allison here! I love a black cami, and this black cami with gold link straps is super fun and very comfy! I’m heading out of town for the weekend, and this was the first top I put in my suitcase! I paired it with my favorite 7 for all mankind bootcut jeans, and a fun pair of gold pumps from Amazon! I’m excited to wear this out for “out on the town” this weekend!

For the Fall I am all about the “Long Duster”! This black duster from Express is super lightweight and the perfect length for my 6 foot frame! I paired it with a pair of tall, cropped jeans (they are sold out), and a pair of strappy heels from Nordstrom. I have been wearing a lot of tall cropped jeans lately, and pairing them with a shoe that goes above my ankle. I love that I can show off the shoes, and I don’t have to worry about inseam lengths!

I love an off the shoulder sweater, and this leopard print from express checked all the boxes! It is super soft, and can be worn off the shoulder or on both shoulders. I’ve worn it with leggings, jeans and skirts. I will wear it well into fall and winter! So versatile!

Ruffle Wrap Hi-Lo Maxi Dress [true to size] // Slip [size up one]

I’m loving this animal print ruffled mid-length dress from Express! Express has always been my go to for dresses, and when I saw this one, I knew I had to try it. The fit is super flattering and the ruffles make it pretty forgiving in my “problem areas”. I thought the front slit was a little high for my 6 foot frame (especially sitting down), so I ordered a lace trimmed slip skirt from Macy’s, and it made for the perfect illusion of added length to the dress!

Debbie here! I love this cozy matching set from Express! It’s super soft and comfy! You could lounge in this, walk your dog (I couldn’t seem to get another pic without my dog in it! Lol) or dress it up with a tank and blazer and heels! I even sleep in it!  Both run a little big so I got xs in both, so I would size down. For reference I’m 5’5” and 130 lbs.

I am loving this cloud top from Express. It’s a crop top but this cloud style keeps your tummy covered! It also comes in white. I’ve paired it here with slim jeans but it would also be cute with dress pants or a skirt.  These jeans are sold out but I’ve linked another pair that are almost an exact match…I think just the hem is slightly different. I sized down a size in these. I’m also wearing their strappy square toe heels. I went up a size just because I have a wide foot and the strap was a little tight in my regular size 8. They don’t have 1/2 sizes in these so I went with the 9. You can tighten the strap around the ankle though.  They’re so cute!

I’m not ready for summer to be over yet and it’s still hot, so I’m wearing this cute off the shoulder dress from Express. It’s so comfortable because the sleeves are separated from the top so you can easily move your arms. I had no problem dancing in this! This keeps going in and out of stock but right now there are all sizes except medium.  I’m wearing my normal size small but you could probably even size down. It also comes in a blue print but only a couple of sizes left right now.

Sthefany here! It’s never too early to start purchasing fall outfits. Leaves falling, cozy cardigans, but most importantly, cute essentials that have to be in every closet. This outfit has to be by far my favorite one to start this fall season. The color combination is perfect to layer with any color blazer or cardigan. The black top hugs the body and doesn’t feel heavy. The jeans have a higher price range, but are absolutely worth every penny. The “classic” fit is just right for my 5’2” height because I can either fold them or leave them as is. But we need a moment of appreciation for this boot moment. They are stunning and the right size block heel prevents you from dying after wearing them. Overall, each piece of this outfit is a must have during this upcoming season. Which one would you buy?
