The Winter Coats I’m Wearing on Repeat

January 11, 2021

Erin Schrader

Bundle up, buttercup, old man Winter is here! One thing’s for certain when you live in the Midwest- Winter’s will be cold and long, and often filled with plenty of snow. I was born and raised in Indiana, so after 30+ years of this, I’m used to the seasons and what to expect, so come December, I know it’s time to bust out the layers in all their glory! Today I wanted to share the Winter coats I’m wearing on repeat this year. From casual runs to the mailbox to dressier options perfect for the office or any events you may have [c’mon 2021, bring back the events! We miss you!].

Abercrombie & Fitch Ultra Mid-Length Puffer  [true to size, wearing in small] // Kut From The Kloth Donna High Waist Button Fly Jeans [size down if in between] // Steve Madden Neven Black Leather Booties // The Drop Women’s Janelle Gathered Shoulder Bag

Faux leather faux life – or at least that’s the motto I’m going with for this coat! This one was a newbie to my closet this year and was an instant favorite of mine [and by all of you!] as soon as I put it on. The right amount of “puff,” the matte finish, the super warmth, it’s got it all! And I’m finding myself leaning towards camel colors over and over this year, so this coat is fitting right in!

J.Crew City Coat [true to size, wearing size 4] // Kut From The Kloth Donna High Waist Button Fly Jeans [size down if in between] // Dakine Mia Pom Beanie // Marc Fisher Oshay Pointed Toe Bootie [size up .5]

Puffers not your style? I got you, girlfriend. I’m officially going to consider this the G.O.A.T coat [greatest of all time, in case you’re wondering]. I’ve had this coat for several years [in several colors], and this year added the new herringbone style to my collection, and I tell you, it does not disappoint. It’s a classic coat that doesn’t go out of style and is great for any occasion. The office, the grocery store, your hair appointment – you’re going there? This coat’s coming too. There’s no doubt you’ll get your money’s worth with this one, since it’ll last for season after season!

Amazon Essentials Heavy-Weight Hooded Puffer Coat [true to size, wearing in small] // Kut From The Kloth Donna High Waist Button Fly Jeans [size down if in between] //Frye Women’s Samantha Hiker Hiking Boot // Panache Buffalo Plaid Trim Pom Pom Hat // Panache Buffalo Plaid Mittens

A closet staple – the classic, affordable, puffer coat. I’ve had this for over a year, and have been so impressed with the comfort, quality, and warmth! Perfect for running errands or exploring outside! Snowball fights are just waiting to happen in this one. Don’t let the white scare you – it’s machine washable! Oh, and did I mention this one comes in 10 color options? Decisions, decisions.

The Drop Kiara Loose-Fit Long Faux Fur Coat [size down if in between, wearing in XS] // Kut From The Kloth Donna High Waist Button Fly Jeans [size down if in between] // Steve Madden Neven Black Leather Booties // Satin Headband

Hypothetically, let’s say you have an event to go or a dinner out with hubby, this.is.your.coat! Not only is this coat cute, but it is SO soft and warm! So warm, in fact, that this just might become my mailbox walking coat! I love the feminine look that the faux fur has, which helps to balance out my joggers and sweatshirt look as of late 😉

As much as I love shorts season [aka summer] I sometimes despise the actual “denim shorts season” itself. Shorts can be tricky. Sometimes they are too tight, too short, too loose and the list of all of the discomforts of shorts goes on. Today, we’re here to put some of those discomforts to rest and […]

If there’s one trend I’m happily hopping on board with, it’s the white sneaker rage. Maybe they never went out of style, maybe it’s more socially acceptable than ever to wear tennies with every. single. outfit. Either way, I’m here for it.
