The Best Cotton Bed Sheets

January 28, 2021

If you type in “best bed sheets” into the Google machine, whoa baby you’re going to come out with way more options than you know what to do with. So we decided it was time to put in the time and energy [actually, we did a lot of sleeping for this, so not much energy], and are sharing what we are deeming the best sheets. Sheets come in all shapes and sizes [well, mostly the same shape actually], so we are focusing on one type – Cotton Percale. Between the matte finish, cool crisp feel, and light breathable fabric, this material has been a fan favorite in our house for a long time, instead of something more satiny! Let’s slip between the sheets, shall we?

PS. You can check out all of our product comparisons here!

How We Tested:

Oh, you need me to take a nap or three? Don’t mind if I do! You better bet I was the first one to volunteer! I simply used the sheets for a few nights at a time, noting wrinkles, breathability, overall feel, and a few other things! Shawn even shared his input, because well, that man likes a good night’s sleep! The testing was a difficult job, but someone had to do it.

The Lineup:

And the winners are….

Best Overall Bed Sheets

  • Brooklinen Classic Core
  • These are the sheets we’ve used for a year or so now and we love them personally, they have held up great, are smooth, don’t wrinkle and feel like great quality! They are great for hot sleepers as they are cooler than a lot of sheets we tried! They do get softer with wash I’ve found! Amazing return policy “All of our core products can be returned or exchanged within 365 days—and include an additional 1-year warranty. And we’ll pay for the return shipping if you’re in the US. Returns will be refunded in the original payment method or store credit.” If you’re looking for the best overall bed sheet, here you have it!

Best Luxury Bed Sheets

  • Parachute Percale Sheet Set
  • These were the most breathable sheets of the group we felt like – they are made out of 100% premium Egyptian cotton and you could tell the quality was there! If wanting to invest in sleep, I would buy these! The only downside is that they don’t have the labels to make the bed [although if I’m being honest I have never used those before so not a huge loss] You do have 60 days to sleep on these and if you don’t like them, you can return! They donate the washed sheets to Habitat For Humanity! Overall, a great luxury level lightweight sheet which is great for a cooler night’s sleep.

Best Budget Friendly Bed Sheets

  • Kohls The Big One Easy Care Sheet Set
  • These were surprisingly very good! Our favorite budget option overall! While they aren’t as breathable [which makes them a little warmer to sleep under] but they are a smooth, soft fabric that feel like good quality! I love that they didn’t wrinkle much at all!

Honorable Mention

  • Boll & Branch Cotton Percale Hemmed Sheet Set
  • These were a very fun package to open – you know you are opening luxury sheets by the box, tissue and ribbons they come packaged in, it’s definitely more of an experience receiving these! Made in organic cotton, I just didn’t think they warranted the high price point compared to some of the others!

Don’t Waste Your Money

While we love these stores for pretty much everything else, their sheets failed us. Use your money on something else, sweet friends.
