We’ve flipped another page on the calendar and are somehow already looking at the last two months of the year! Holiday season is here, friends! Whether you’re planning to get together with loved ones in-person or through a computer screen this year [2020, what a year!], it’s still a time to celebrate those we love. Personalized gifts add a little something extra, and this year, that’s something we could also use a bit of. And with so many stores with personalized items [Mark & Graham, Etsy, Minted, and more], it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few items! So take a peek at a few of our favorite ideas for the moms, dads, kids, and friends in your life, and remember, custom gifts take a little more time to produce, which is why we’re sharing these ideas sooner rather than later!
Let’s be real, this was a gift to myself this holiday season! We recently bought a house, and I can’t wait to use this beautiful custom name doormat to greet all our guests as they enter our new home! This makes a great gift for anyone who has also bought a new home during this time, newly engaged or newly married couples, or just the hostess or homebody in your life!
I have been making these wall calendars for years! I love that Shutterfly saves our family birthdays, anniversaries, etc. year after year so I never have to remember to write them down, they’re just automatically added if I opt for it to do so. Each year I simply set up my template for our family with photos, then duplicate the project and switch out a few photos and birthdays to make calendars for grandparents. Easy peasy, a customized gift for each set of grandparents as well as a calendar for our family.
A great stocking stuffer for nearly anyone in your life! With TONS of layout options including photos, monograms and quotes you’re bound to find one for each stocking you need to stuff.
I love this fresh take on the kids name puzzle. The acrylic letters elevate it from the typical wooden letter pieces. Beyond just name personalization, you can further customize this gift to the individual taste of the kiddo in your life by selecting any of the 24 fun background pattern options. You’re sure to find one that matches their unique personality! The name puzzle also comes with wooden letters in addition to the acrylic, as well as an acrylic stand for displaying the adorable puzzle on a shelf!
These are a few of my favorite [personalized] things! Introducing the best and most-used personalized gifts I’ve received. Pro Tip: if you’re wanting to add a personal touch to gifts this year, don’t overthink it. Find something you know they’ll love [shout out coffee mugs and jewelry— every gal loves coffee mugs and jewelry], but make it monogrammed. It’s such a simple but sweet gesture, and guaranteed to be their new favorite mug. 😉
Clear Acrylic Name Keychain: Who doesn’t love a cute custom keychain?
Cheers, dad! We’ll never question whose beer opener it is again!
I’ve seen this idea on Etsy for a few years and have always thought it would make a super special gift. You can choose the shape and wood type you would like and then you will message the seller a scanned copy of the recipe you would like on the board! I have a box of recipes from my Great Grandmother. She was here until 2015 and was a huge part of my family, so having something with her handwriting will be a special, personalized gift for my Mom or Grandma.
Last time I saw my Pa (Grandpa) I realized he probably hasn’t bought a new wallet since I was a kid haha! There’s nothing wrong with that, but I wanted to get him a new one with his name on it. I know something like a wallet (especially for men) can sometimes be at the bottom of the list when you’re shopping for yourself, so I hope he loves this new, personalized gift! You can also choose different monogram styles and leather colors.
This robe is SO cozy!! My daughter wears it daily and it is the softest material!! She loves that it has her name on it too which is a fun touch from a standard robe! The quality of these is amazing, you determine the font style, color of font and monogram and it arrives so fast!
This is quite possibly the best gift I’ve ever received and the perfect gift for a mom, sister, friend, parent, new mom, aunt and any other woman in your life! This necklace is dainty, easily layered with other delicate necklaces you have, and amazing quality! I get so many compliments on this when I wear it and love it can be customized to your preference!
For the kiddo in your life that loves puzzles, these are such a fun customized option for gifting!! You can choose the astronaut, number of pieces and include the child’s name! Easy to take apart and put back together and the puzzle is great quality!
When I saw these cute chairs years before having kids, I knew we’d own them some day. And now, I have a second little one who may or may not be finding one under the Christmas tree this year! These are perfect for pics as they grow, a place to sit and read a book, or we’ve recently learned they’re great for flipping over and using as a slide… 🙂 They also have “My First Anywhere Chairs” which are even smaller!
Tray [similar tray]
We received this tray as a wedding gift eight years ago, and still use it every single day! We love to keep it on the tray, ottoman, or coffee table to collect all the things – remotes, phones, coffees, bottles, sippy cups, magazines, and on and on and on! It’s truly been such a great piece, and was such a great non-wedding registry gift to receive! A few other trays I love: Clear Acrylic // White // Wooden
Kick off their new year with somewhere to write their goals, to-dos, and big ideas!
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
