Welcome to the Ozark’s!
Welcome to Mountain Home! Also known as my (Katy) other hometown (see Jonesboro, AR for my other hometown blog post). Mountain Home is a beautiful place. It’s like a little slice of heaven! Especially in the outdoor months because it’s home to 2 lakes and 3 rivers!
Let’s start with the place that has my heart: Lake Norfork. I grew up on this lake and I think it’s the best place in the world! You can rent a pontoon or jet ski to take out on the water, bass fish, or camp! You won’t be disappointed. The area is called “Twin Lakes” because Bull Shoals Lake is about 15 minutes from Norfork and is equally as beautiful and actually larger!
The White River is the spot for some world class trout fishing. Go out with the family or a fishing guide and enjoy the beautiful scenery while you (hopefully) catch some fish! Be sure to check out Gaston’s Resort while you’re there!
House of Pizza is my favorite spot to grab a bite! I’m a classic breadstick + cheese pizza girl (even though I’m lactose intolerant – oops). If you’re in the mood for a dive bar and AMAZING burger hit up The Back 40.
If you’re into the brewery scene, Rapp’s Barren is your place! It’s a cozy, friendly spot, and sometimes they have live music! Hoppuccinno or My Sweet Mtn. Home are my favorite drafts on tap 🙂
My coffee peeps: you need to make a trip to Cove Coffee! They have so many yummy latte options and amazing scones! It’s all about the community hang here. There’s a sign that says “We don’t have WiFi…talk to each other pretend it’s 1995”, which I love haha!
Drop in at Freckles Chic for some cute, boutique shopping! From baby, to bridal shower gifts, to your favorite new dress – they’ve got it all!
Wanna work out while you’re on Vacation? Head to Amend Fitness and get your sweat on before you head out on the water! This is my cousin, Robert’s gym and they do an amazing job!
