Shark Tank Products: Tested & Invested ;)

January 28, 2020

If you know me at all, you know Shark Tank is my jam. We’re talking never have missed an episode type of addiction. If it’s Sunday evening at 9 pm you better believe your investing dollar that I’m sitting smack dab in front of the TV watching entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to the row of sharks waiting to find out who gets a deal. Maybe it’s my business loving spirit or maybe it’s the simple fact that I have a shopping addiction so watching something along the lines of QVC being sold brand new to the market items that could be life-changing and that I must buy n-o-w, it’s all a recipe for magic.

Taking my deep love for Shark Tank, the team had a fun idea that I should do a blog post dedicated to “as seen on Shark Tank” products to put them to the test and deliver my best “you’ve got a deal” or “I’m out”. Meet the products pitchin’ their best foot forward:

Product Pitched: Simply Fit Board – The Workout Balance Board with a Twist I read somewhere that this Simply Fit Board is one of the most sold items in Shark Tank’s history. I have to believe that this stems from all of our internal desires to have an 8-pack of abs without having to put in too much work 😉 I can see how it does provide a core workout as it takes those muscles of ours to be engaged to stay balanced and then combine the twists and yup, an 8-pack is inevitable [wink]. Now to determine if doing a few minutes of this a day will negate the Dove Ice Cream bar I’m about to demolish….

And the shark says: You’ve got a Deal! Not necessarily because I think I’ll use it regularly but mostly for the entertainment this $20 item provides for watching others in your household try it. At the very least, it makes watching TV a little more active of a hobby if used while doing so.

Product Pitched: Drop Stop – The Original Patented Car Seat Gap FillerI can’t believe it took me this long to invest in this Drop Stop and before I bought it for myself, I bought it for my parents and mother-in-law. It turns out the handiest of items can make the best gifts. This simple idea is a tool that prevents items from dropping in the gap between your car seat [ie: your phone one million times a day, hi me]. I’ve been using this now for a couple of weeks and it has saved me from countless drops. If every car manufacturer could go ahead and just start putting this in every car created that’d be great. And until then, prep your car right this way.

And the shark says: YOU’VE GOT A DEAL! Spoiler alert: This may just be my favorite and most useful Shark Tank product ever purchased. Highly recommend getting yourself one!

Product Pitched: Scrub Daddy®, The Original Scrub Daddy – FlexTexture SpongeThis is another top selling Shark Tank product from over the years. It’s a whopping $2 or something but for that $2 you get a scrubber that can literally do it all. Polish furniture, fit in cups as you wash to clean every morsel, it’s smiling face allows you to shove spoons and knives in said smile to get all of the grime off your silverware, is dishwasher safe for once you’re done using it and the list of why it’s awesome goes on.

And the shark says: You’ve got a deal! This is somewhat of a no-brainer for me as it’s a low cost way to keep all of your dishes clean and do a million other things in the process.

Product Pitched: WISPsystem Best 90 Degree Angle One-Handed Broom with Dustpan and Telescoping Handle w/Bristle Seal Technology (Gray) I believe that this product has the power to be awesome, however, for the life of me I couldn’t quite understand it. The benefit of this broom is for one) you can step on the dusting pan making sweeping up messes a breeze. The front lip is made to keep the dust and dirt from following out, however, I couldn’t get it over it in the first place. Call me stupid, but this one is just a little too complicated for my simple self.

And the shark says: I’m out. At the end of the day, I’m more of a Roomba type of gal.

Product Pitched: MyoStorm Heating Vibrating Massage Ball Roller for Deep Tissue Muscle RecoveryThe expensive ball of the group, put the word vibration on anything and I’m sold. Yes I just published that on the internet. Moving on, this vibrating ball is made for deep tissue muscle recovery which makes me believe that one would most benefit from this if they worked their muscles out. Step one Erin, step one. It does heat up as well and as I watched Mark Cuban try it out on air and say how good it felt I knew I needed it to rub all over me and give it my thoughts. Turns out he was right, it does feel good. But does it feel $150 good? That’s still up for debate.

And the shark says: You’ve got a deal [pending I’d workout to actually have a need for it] but actually on second thought knowing there’s probably less expensive options on the market, I’m out.

Product Pitched: Zorpads Odor Eliminating Shoe Inserts Two Pairs These little foot pads are made to eliminate odor which now thinking about it, would be perfect for my Converse slip-ons that I never want to wear socks with. They do stick to the insides of your shoes to prevent them from going all over the place while you walk from here to there and everywhere.

And the shark says: Too Early to Invest [aka I haven’t used them enough to know just how odor eliminating they are]. I’ll report back after a 90 degree day 😉

Product Pitched: Mission Belt Men’s Leather Ratchet Belt, 40mm Metal Collection     It’s the belt that always fits. Made of genuine leather without any belt holes, it clicks into place every 1/4 inch [a traditional belt has holes spaced apart every inch making this a closer fit] and is so quick to take on and off. I know several guys who wear these and love them. I think it’s a slick gift to give and takes an every day wardrobe essential and brings it to life in a new way.

And the shark says: You’ve got a deal! Although I will admit – their logo very closely resembles a male body part, yes? Genius branding or simply awkward? The debate is still out on that one. In more important news, can we take a minute to appreciate that I had a hand written thank you note with my purchase from them?! That’s worth striking a deal alone in my opinion!

Product Pitched: Fizzics FZ403 DraftPour Beer Dispenser – Converts Any Can or Bottle Into a Nitro-Style DraftIf you ever watched this Facebook Live you’ll know how well this product worked the first time around [go to the 5:30 mark]. As in, it didn’t. We ended up having to pitch it because neither Shawn or I could get it to work. For the sake of giving it another try for this blog post, I ordered a new one and it worked like a champ turning a bottle of beer into a draft beer, although it turns out I’m great at giving head…to beer. Hold your glass at a tilt and you won’t be foaming at the mouth like yours truly.

And the shark says: Based on the first attempt – I’m out. I need a reliable tool when it comes to enjoying a cold glass of beer and I just don’t know if my trust is here.

Product Pitched: Frywall 10 (Medium) – Black – Splatter GuardThis was the very first Shark Tank I bought and has become one of the most used kitchen products in our household. Imagine yourself cookin’ up some stir fry or casserole or whatever meat mixture you may have going on and you need to stir it up but don’t want to take the lid off because you know the grease will splatter everywhere — insert FrywallThis silicone guard sits in your pan and prevents oil and grease from getting all over your stove and counters while still giving you access to the food you’re preparing. The best part? It’s dishwasher safe so once you cook just throw it in there with the rest of your dishes and it’s ready to re-use the next time!

And the shark says: You’ve got a deal! Firm believer in this product!
