With spring right around the corner, it’s out with the old and in with the new. Anyone else have the urge to purge this time of year? Spring cleaning is no joke. While there’s still snow on the ground around these parts, I’m already crossing my fingers and my toes hoping that dang groundhog will see his shadow. Spring, where you at? I’m itching to fill my [freshly purged] closet with all the new spring items that arrived at my doorstep from Nordstrom.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. I’m a Nordy Girl at heart. It’s true, my love for Nordstrom runs deep. It’s no secret that Nordstrom packages are a common site in our household [maybe a little too common, but that’s neither here nor there]. If you have followed along for any length of time, you know that Nordstrom is my go-to, one stop shop when it comes to getting dressed. With free shipping and returns, it is [almost] too easy to turn to Nordstrom for both closet staples and all the new trendy items each season brings. And if you’re not already a member, be sure to check out the Nordy Club to earn points when you shop and receive a ton of benefits like exclusive access, curbside pickup, and a whole lot more. Today we’re talking about the latest trends for spring and sharing a few simple ways to incorporate them into your wardrobe. Spring, go ahead and get sprung.
Let’s talk about trends for spring. One trend I am beyond excited about? Bold, bright colors. I know, I know, this may come as a shock to you all, but bold colors hold a special place in my heart. There’s just something about putting on a bright colored outfit that instantly brightens my mood. I typically find myself turning to these shades when a gloomy day calls for a sunny mood-boost.
If dressing like 60’s wallpaper is wrong, I don’t want to be right. I was immediately drawn to this yellow top for obvious reasons. Not only is yellow near and dear to my heart, but the feminine floral detail is perfect for spring. Dress it up, dress it down, wear it to work. The world is your oyster.
BLANKNYC Life Changer Moto Jacket [wearing size small in Tan] // Caslon Rounded V-Neck Tee [wearing size small in White] // Donna High Waist Frayed Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans [size down if in between] // Sam Edelman Hazel Pointy Toe Pump [TTS]
While this “trend” is more of a staple in my closet, you won’t catch me complaining. If there’s one spring trend I urge you to hop on board with, it’s leather. A classic leather jacket is a closet staple and a must-have year-round. Pair it with lighter tones [like a basic white tee and nude heels] for fresh look perfect for date night or a night out on the town this season!
CeCe Polka Dot Open Front Long Cardigan [slightly oversized, wearing size small] // Chelsea28 Crossover Camisole [TTS, wearing size small] // Wit & Wisdom Ab-solution Skinny Ankle Jeans // Sam Edelman Hazel Pointy Toe Pump [TTS]
It was an itsy-bitsy teeny weeny [not so much, actually slightly oversized] black polka-dot cardigan that she wore for the first time today. And it won’t be the last. This fun pattern has held a special place in my heart for years [shout out Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman]. Ready or not, polka dots are back in town and I’m not mad about it!
