LIY Team Try-On // DSW Edition

November 12, 2019

Erin Schrader

I recently got lost browsing the virtual isles of the wonderland known as DSW [also known as Designer Shoe Warehouse]. For those of you who aren’t familiar, DSW carries hundreds of our favorite brands at discounted prices and offers speedy shipping [free after $35]! Did I mention they typically offer the cutest free gifts with purchases? I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been tempted to place an order just to get my hands on the free goodies. It’s no secret they’re a LIY team favorite when it comes to footwear, so today we’re sharing a few of our recent DSW finds.

ps. You can find all of our other LIY Team Try-Ons here!

Erin’s Booties

Vince Camuto Bibestie Bootie [true to size] // Sweater [true to size, wearing in small] // Jeans [true to size, wearing in short for 5’4]

When I spotted these booties on DSW’s site I was so excited because they looked identical to the pair that were in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I fell in love with. The best part? These were less expensive than the anniversary sale price! I had to snag a pair in this great brown color which will match everything this fall and winter! I find these booties to be so comfortable and I love the cutout around the ankle which I think is super flattering! A must-have bootie in my opinion!

Erin’s Loafers

Sam Edelman Loraine Loafer [size down .5 if in between] // Blazer [true to size, wearing in small] // Cami [true to size, wearing in small] //  Jeans [true to size, wearing in short for 5’4]

Oh my sparkle! These statement loafers are sure to stand out in any crowd and that is a-okay with me! These are the perfect flat for the holidays if you like to be a little “extra” without having to sport a heel all day! I am a huge Sam Edelman fan and find all of his shoes to be some of the most comfortable in my closet! I love the little gold detail both on the back of the shoe and with the metal bit on top! The best part? They will go with WAY more in your closet than you may think if you just give them a try!

Hannah’s Pumps

Mix No. 6 Danyah Pump [true to size]

I have been looking for a great pair of black pumps with a small statement and found these! The subtle snake print is just enough without going overboard and adds that hint of edginess to the outfit! These are definitely nice enough for an office but throw them on for date night and they elevate that outfit the perfect amount! It also helps they are comfortable!

Cassidy’s Flats

Dolce Vita Cody Flat  [true to size]

I LOVE these flats! I usually struggle finding a pair of flats that actually flatter my feet [I have weird ankles] but these do the trick! I love that they cover my heel and toes that way I can wear them throughout more seasons. The perforated suede is also a cute touch to dress up an outfit!

Cassidy’s Booties

Marc Fisher Retta Bootie [true to size]

I finally caved and got on board with snakeskin! Again, I have weird ankles so I am really conscious of the shape of booties, I love that this bootie creates a slimming effect due to its cut + shape! Loving these for fall and winter!

Lauren’s Booties

Jessica Simpson Lesley Bootie [true to size]

I wanted a pair of dressy booties for Winter to wear for events or date nights. Don’t get my wrong- I love a bootie with a thick chunky heel, but it’s not a very dressy look. And I don’t like to bust out my pumps in the Winter- unless I can wear them with socks. I loved the stilleto heel and pointy toe of this pair and reviews told me how crazy comfortable they were going to be! They’re not QUITE as comfortable as I’d been hoping, because it is quite the heel, but they’ll still be great for wearing for an evening out – maybe just not all day!

Lauren’s Boot Socks

Hunter Cable Knit Boot Socks

Hunter boots are great for keeping your feet dry, but warm, not so much! That’s where these boot socks come into play! Now you can keep your feet dry AND warm in the colder months, and tuck them away come summertime when you don’t need the extra warmth!

Becca’s Booties

Steve Madden Elroy Bootie [true to size] // Top [true to size] // Bottoms [true to size]

Loving these classic black sock booties! They have a really pretty silhouette with the pointed toe and heel, but the heel is low enough for everyday wear. I paired them with a cropped pair of plaid pants — but these would really look great with skinny jeans, wide leg crops, boot legs, skirts, dresses — the world really is your oyster with these super versatile shoes!

Becca’s Booties

Sole Society Jazda Bootie [true to size] // Denim [size down] // Sweater [true to size]

These cute little booties are the perfect little casual shoe for fall! They have a bit of a heel, but are as comfortable as flats! The toe heads towards a point, but then is squared off at the end – a fun little detail! Although the color is called grey, it is really more of a very pretty  light beige that will match just about any outfit!

Claire’s Wedge Booties

Lucky Wedge Bootie [true to size] // Cami [size down if in between] // Denim [true to size] // Jacket [true to size]

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect wedge bootie for fall and winter. This one has been a LIY Tribe favorite for awhile now, so I finally decided to take the plunge. SO glad I did! They’re lightweight, comfortable, and match just about every outfit. True to size, also available in black.

Not related to post, but I would love a tour of Lauren’s house! It always looks so cute in posts!

  2. Megan says:

Totally forgot about DSW!!!! Thanks for the reminder! Heading to fill up a shopping cart…
BTW just noticed on their site they have an option called afterpay, you can split the price of your purchase between four installments. Apparently it charges every two weeks til paid off, but doesn’t require credit approval or application! Guilt free way to buy those splurge shoes!

  3. TAMMY says:

DSW has a great selection of heels at reasonable prices. I just bought an open toe bootie with a 4 inch heel recently. Too cold today in NYC to wear. Today’s outfit is the parker with the running shoes.
