4 Spend-Worthy Items for Fall

August 20, 2019

Disclosure: Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post. All products were selected, purchased and styled by yours truly!

Something you rarely hear me say: SPEND MORE MONEY. Today what am I saying? SPEND MORE MONEY. That’s right. I said it. Now before you get upset at me or think I’ve lost my mind [debatable], let me elaborate. I’m a pretty firm believer that you get what you pay for with most pieces of clothing. You spend more – you’re probably going to get a quality piece that is going to last you for years. You spend close to nothing- well, hopefully you at least get a few wears out of it before it starts to fall apart.

I talked about this a bit the other day- spend more and invest in pieces that you’re going to want to have in your closet for a long time or wear constantly. If it’s something you only see yourself wearing here and there, then definitely go for the save! But if you’ll be wearing it a lot- go for the quality item. Staple items = spend. Trendy items = save.

As you all know well by now, Nordstrom packages show up at my house quite frequently – maybe a little too frequent, but that’s neither here nor there. It’s all for good reason! Nordstrom carries both spend and save items to keep my on trend with the more affordable items and helping me look long term with the more pricey investment pieces! That, coupled with their free shipping, free returns makes it a great destination to shop for everything you need for fall- both splurges and saves. If you’re ready to update your closet with a few fall spend-worthy staples, scroll on down! [And if you’re looking to save, don’t worry, I’ve got some look-a-likes ready for you too!].

Cashmere

Halogen® Cashmere Ruana  // AG Ex-Boyfriend Relaxed Slim Jeans  [true to size] // Vince Camuto Gigietta Bootie [true to size] // Rebecca Minkoff Jody Suede Feed Bag

Cashmere? Who wants to spend money on cashmere? That was me saying that until I put this cashmere on my body and OH MY WORD CASHMERE MARRY ME. But seriously, over here just wondering where this has been my whole life. I love the shape of this wrap [technically it’s a ruana]. It’s not a cardigan, not a shawl, not a jacket, just a great layering piece to add both warmth and style to your look this fall. I wore it here with a tank, but as the days get colder it could also go over a long sleeve or turtleneck!

If you’re looking for a save version of this, here’s a great option!

These Booties

Vince Camuto Gigietta Bootie [true to size]

I know, I know, these are snakeskin which is a major trend [and I JUST wrote a post about spending less on trendy items and more on staples]. BUT these booties from Vince Camuto also come in neutral colors, so I promise they’re a great investment. I decided to go against my better judgement [and hey, I got them when they were on mega sale], and splurge for these snakeskin booties. They’re SO comfortable, and I’m obsessed with the squared-off pointy toe. I don’t know how my boy Vince does it, but he did it again with these.

If you’re looking for a save version of these, these are two great options here and here!

Boyfriend Jeans

Halogen® Cashmere Ruana  // AG Ex-Boyfriend Relaxed Slim Jeans  [true to size] // Vince Camuto Gigietta Bootie [true to size] // Rebecca Minkoff Jody Suede Feed Bag

These boyfriend jeans came home with me from the NSale and I didn’t have huge expectations of them. But holy cow. They have been getting worn over and over and over. I love that they’re not the usual skinny jean that I tend to gravitate towards, but they’re not an oversized traditional boyfriend jean. In fact, they’re technically an EX boyfriend 😉 I’ve been wearing these with sandals, booties, and heels so the versatility is absolutely there and I foresee these being worn for a loooong time.

If you’re looking for a save version of these jeans, here are some great options!

This Designer Purse

Halogen® Cashmere Ruana  //  Rebecca Minkoff Jody Suede Feed Bag

A designer bag doesn’t have to cost you thousands of dollars. It doesn’t even have to cost hundreds and hundreds! There are a lot of reasonably priced, quality bags out there! This green bag is such an unexpected color for fall, but as soon as I saw it I thought “that would be a great bag for fall.” And now look at me, wearing it with my fall outfit – what do ya know! The strap is long enough that it could be worn over the shoulder as shown, or as a crossbody. It’s a fantastic size to carry my wallet, sunglasses, car keys and a few other miscellaneous items without being too large or too small. I love that this doesn’t have the brand name written all over it or have any flashy designs- it’s just a simple, classic look that will last for years to come!

If you’re looking for a save version of this purse, here’s a great option!
