My Favorites from the Backcountry Semi-Annual Sale!

February 15, 2019

Disclosure: Thank you to Backcountry and ShopStyle for partnering on today’s post.

Last week I was in the Caribbean seeing nothing but blue skies and sea for miles. Since I’ve been home, I’ve seen nothing but snow, sleet, and ice. I’ll take Caribbean, for $500, Alex. But as long as I continue to live here in Indiana, I’ll continue to experience winter every February. And I’ve got to admit, I do look forward to its snowy scenes. The other thing I look forward to this time of year is how stores start slashing prices on winter coats, boots, sweatshirts, and more! The one I am most excited about? My beloved Backcountry semi-annual sale. If you aren’t familiar with Backcountry, we are about the change that once and for all, because believe me, you want to know about them. Backcountry is a premium outdoor and lifestyle retailer based in Park City, Utah and they carry all of your favorite outdoor brands including but not limited to Patagonia, The North Face, Sorel, Prana, Marmot, Free People and more. The best news? During this sale [it goes until February 28th] they have pieces from these brands up to 50% off! If that doesn’t make you jump in your [waterproof, warm, fuzzy] boots I don’t know what will. Add in the fact that they offer free 2-day shipping over $50 and their customer service is out of this world – seriously, the best I’ve ever experienced, there is no reason why Backcountry shouldn’t be a go-to retailer when giving in to your daily online shopping habits. [PS if you haven’t shopped Backcountry before, they’re giving my readers a discount. Just use code YELLOW15 for 15% off your first purchase at Backcountry.com!]

Today I thought I would share my top finds that I picked up during the Backcountry Semi-Annual Sale, [remember they have items for women, men, and kids] starting with the world’s best vest.

Patagonia Bivy Vest // Mountain Hardwear EDP Waffle Long-Sleeve Shirt [size small] //  Sorel Joan Of Arctic Wedge II Boot

Vests are one of the easiest layering pieces when you don’t want a big bulky coat for running around in the winter, and this one fit the bill when it came to keepin’ things warm! Underneath, I’ve layered it with this waffle long sleeve!

I’m a big proponent that waffles shouldn’t only be for breakfast. I like waffles for my shirts, too! And if the shirt has thumb holes to keep my sleeves down and my hands warm, double points!

Sorel Joan Of Arctic Wedge II Boot

Next up, I swear by these boots for a little edge in the winter! They have fantastic traction so you’re not slipping on the snow and ice, and a built-in wedge to add some height and style! Plus, they’re waterproof, so they’re perfect for days that I’m running errands in the wet slush, want to look put together, and don’t want to go full-on winter with my Sorel Toffino IIs.

Patagonia Organic Cotton Quilt Snap-T Pullover Sweatshirt [size small] // Sorel Joan Of Arctic Wedge II Boot

I cannot say enough good things about these Patagonia sweatshirts. They come in so many color combinations so there’s sure to be a color scheme that’s up your alley. It’s a perfect sweatshirt to throw on with jeans [or sweats for an indoor cuddle session], and not need a jacket because of it so warm! Plus, I’m a sucker for a quilted pattern!

Patagonia Diamond Capra Jacket [size small] //Sorel Joan Of Arctic Wedge II Tall Boot

My riding boots, booties, and flats rarely make it outside when there’s snow or ice on the ground. But these boots do. I first wore these tall boots during Shawn and I’s trip to Iceland, and they were so comfortable [and warm] for days full of exploring! They’re basically the taller version of the pair I showed above. If having them in the tall and short version doesn’t scream “dang, she must really like these boots,” I don’t know what does.

Remember when I said I was a sucker for a quilted pattern? Well, the diamond shape strikes again with this jacket! If you’re more of a jacket girl than a vest girl, this is the softest, cuddliest jacket you could find to add an extra layer or warmth. And when it’s zipped and buttoned, it gets an extra dose of fun with a high funnel collar.

Backcountry Strawberry Fleece Jacket [size small]

Speaking of cuddly, soft, and funnel collars, please direct your eyes to this fleece jacket. From the asymmetrical zipper to the contrasting details around the pockets, to the funnel neck, this jacket has a modern feel to it that stands out from the others!

And there you have it my “winter lasts for six months where I live too” friends! Be sure to check out the Backcountry semi-annual sale before it’s over!
