Every year I love to do a Christmas home tour [see last year’s here] so especially being in this new space I had to document it all [mostly so I have something to reference next year when decorating to ensure I remember where to put everything…]. While we still have a ton of decor that didn’t find a spot in this home for the season, we have enough to make it feel like a winter wonderland. Without further ado, I present you our first official Christmas Home Tour at the cabin…. [psssst – real quick, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions on Instagram if we’re living here full-time. The answer is yes, right now we are. The cabin is so cozy for the winter so it was hard to not want to live here to soak up these cold, snowy months. Come spring time, you’ll see me a lot more back on the river!]
For our Christmas tree, we purchased a pre-lit flocked tree last year and while I was unsure at first, I absolutely love it now. The white flocked detail gives the tree so much life and really makes it the star of the show, just like any Christmas tree should be. For the ornaments, I went with a classic yet rustic red and gold color scheme.
While I adore the flocked tree with a strict color scheme, I always have had to have a separate tree for all of the Old World Christmas Ornaments my aunt has given me over the years. My aunt owns an ornament shop and it’s become a tradition since I was very little to receive an ornament[s] at Christmas that represents something significant from the year. This has become my favorite part of decorating for Christmas every year – hanging every ornament and remembering what each one symbolizes. I also love that this tree found a perfect spot snuggled up next to the fireplace and lights up the area perfectly!
Moving back to some living room details, to tie in the red details of the color schemed tree, I stuck with the pillows I picked up last year at Target [the home of where I get ALL pillows]. Add in a few cozy throws and the couches are complete!
This was my first year having a true fireplace mantle to decorate which made me all sorts of giddy inside. Granted, not having a massive TV in the way would have made it a little more appealing [thanks husband for your grand touch of decor ;)] but I was able to make it as festive as possible by garnishing it with every tree I could get my hands on, my beloved Hearth & Hand Magnolia Galvanized House Lanterns, monogramed stockings and a touch of garland! Turn on the fireplace and we’ve got ourselves our favorite spot in the house, folks.
Of course, my Christmas decor wouldn’t be complete without a few signs scattered around [this is what happens when you have a sign maker for a sister]. Right now you can take 20% off + free shipping on all of her ready to ship signs w/code SHIPNOW!
Moving to the dining room and kitchen area, this has to be my favorite decorated spot in the house. There’s just something about a fully decorated table that makes my heart sing, especially when it’s all lit up with candlelight. I went with a simple yet elegant look this year with candles upon candles and a black / white theme. Thanks to Joanna Gaines and her line at Target, she makes it easy to look like you know what you’re doing [meanwhile I have no clue..]
Now before I burn this house down, I better blow out these candles and say goodbye to our Christmas home tour. I hope you enjoyed it..come back again soon!
For your Pinning pleasure…
