Living In Yellow Office Come on in…
Today, I’m so excited to finally introduce you to the brand spankin’ new Living in Yellow office! When Shawn and I first decided to buy the cabin, we saw the sunroom and knew it would be the perfect space to transform into our permanent team office. It’s the room that sealed the deal for us. It just needed a bit of tweaking to make it a place where the team could thrive on a daily basis [still regretting taking that hot tub out, though]. Let’s take a look at where it all started…
With a little paint, a little tile, and a whole lotta decor, here we are! Come on in!
For the table, we wanted a work space that gave us plenty of room for us to spread out with our computers, notes, snacks, and drinks. I fell in love with this table when I first saw it. It was smaller than I was looking for, so I put on my thinking cap, threw two tables together, and bam! We now have the perfect size table for our space! Bonus- keep some wipes on hand and clean up is a breeze [bonus: they are non-toxic, residue free and smell glorious]!
THESE. BLUSH. CHAIRS. While Shawn may hate them because he thinks we won’t keep them clean [don’t tell him that we dropped biscuits and jam on them yesterday], we are IN LOVE. They are seriously the softest, blushiest [is that a word?], most become-one-with-a-chair, chair I’ve ever had. And the pretty gold handle on the back makes them super easy to move.
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you may have seen some sneak peaks of the office as the tile was being installed. The individual tiles are so pretty, but when you put an entire room of them together, HOLY COW. I was blown away when the entire room was done, and think it is such a unique flooring option!
While it pained me at first to cover up the gorgeous new tile, I wanted something to soften up the room a bit. Once I laid eyes on this rug, I forgot all about my concerns of covering the tile. The blue color pops so well against the tile, and I’m obsessed with the mint trim around the edge. It’s the perfect size to give the table and chairs a defined space in the room. And the perfect space for Max and Ollie to snuggle on while we work [which happens every office day] 🙂
Who gets the most action in the office? The coffee and snack bar. That’s who.
There’s no question, we are coffee people. Morning coffee, iced coffee, black coffee, afternoon snack coffee. Basically, stay far, far away if we haven’t had our coffee.
If there is one thing we make sure there’s no shortage of, it’s snacks. On any given day, you could walk in the office and see at least 8 or 9 different snacks open on the table. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Brandless, so it only makes sense that I stock the office with Brandless goodies. There’s a chance we order weekly to make sure we’re never without. Right now, Brandless is offering YOU the chance to get $10 off your order of $50 or more, now through 8/27 with code YELLOW!
We weren’t huge users of disposable dishes, until we found these plates, bowls, coffee cups, silverware and napkins. They’re all made from renewable resources and are 100% compostable. And you know how sometimes the coffee STILL feels hot on your hands even with a sleeve? Not with these. Your hand can comfortably hold the hot coffee without feeling like you’re giving yourself third degree burns.
What’s an office without office supplies? While we primarily use our computers for work, the team is all pretty old school when it comes to list making and notes. Not only do we turn to Brandless for all of our snacks, but their office supplies are just as good! We keep our large FSC certified notebooks, skinny notebooks, and notecards all in one drawer so we quickly know where they are. And you can’t have paper without pens! These gel pens are perfect for our never-ending to-do lists, and the highlighters are in such fun colors!
After Hours
The perfect office accessory: a wine opener! Sometimes office hours turn into happy hours, and we’re not complaining! It’s amazing what one glass of wine will do to get the creative juices flowing!
And there you have it! The Living In Yellow office! We hope you love it as much as we do! Get ready for a whole lot of new things coming your way, because this space is already proving to be quite the idea generator! Thanks for stopping by, come back again soon 😉 ps. Don’t forget to use the code YELLOW to take $10 off your order of $50 or more [expires 8/27 so get those orders placed!] For more ideas on what to order from Brandless, see this Hits & Misses blog post!
Disclosure: Thank you to Brandless for partnering on today’s post. We love working with brands that we are truly obsessed with and use frequently!
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
As the leaves are starting to change from greens to reds, that can only mean one thing [aside from football season] – campfire season! Lauren here from the LIY Team! I can be found sipping wine around the campfire on any given Saturday night this time of year, and while we’re sipping we’re snacking too […]
Our favorite pastime? Sniffing all the candles! Okay okay, maybe it’s not our favorite pastime, but boy do we sure love finding the perfect scents! After giving TONS of candles, oils, and diffusers a whirl, we’ve narrowed down our favorites, just in time for cozy days this fall! As much as I wish this screen […]
If there’s one thing the LIY Team did this Summer [besides go for boat rides and drink seltzers] – it was read. Audio books, Kindle editions, good old fashion physical copies… you name it, we read it. While we went through a few that weren’t so great, we did find a few worth passing along! […]
