If you work in the office, you know the black pant rut that we can often find ourselves in. I know for me personally, when I worked at a local credit union 99.9% of the time I resorted to my old faithful classic black pants and a basic button-up shirt. While it’s easy, it also gets really boring really fast. The LIY team and I decided that we should bring a little more life and spice to the office and are showing how you can, in fact, ditch the black work pants [at least for one day of the week ;)] From bold prints to cropped colorful styles, there are so many cute and unique options to rock in the workplace, you just have to step out of your normal style and give it a shot. BE BRAVE MY FRIENDS, you can do it. Behold five different pant options for your Monday – Friday wardrobe that will have your cubicle mates turn their heads and deem you MVP of the workplace runway [aka the hallway that goes to the bathroom]. Let’s jump in and bust out these non black work pants options…

The colored pant
New York & Company 7th Pants [true to size] // New York & Company 7th Avenue – V-Neck Top [true to size] // New York & Company 7th Avenue Ponte One-Button Jacket – Stripe [true to size] // New York & Company T-Strap Pump [true to size]
You know I am a huge advocate for bringing color into your wardrobe, so this option is a no-brainer to me. Not only is a bold color fun, it can totally uplift your spirits and your overall persona in the office which can be a pretty drab place often times. I love how Steph paired these yellow pants [live in that color girlfriend ;)] with a navy blazer and heels. A polished yet fun look!
2. The paperbag pant
Ann Taylor Ruffle Shoulder Shell [if in between, size down, wearing in XS] // Boden Melina Paperbag Pants [true to size] // Sam Edelman Ariella Ankle Strap Sandal [true to size]
Paperbag pants can be SO flattering on so many as it accentuates the waistline. I absolutely love the cinched waist with tie detail. These pants can work on many different body types. If you’ve been doubting these, I would suggest giving them a shot! You may be pleasantly surprised with just how smokin’ you look. They are easy enough to wear with a simple top [short sleeve, long sleeve, sleeveless, the world is your oyster] and paired with a simple heel and you’re good to go!
3. The printed pant
Loft Gingham Riviera Pants in Julie Fit [true to size] // Loft Covered Button Strappy Cami [true to size] // Loft Eyelet Block Heel Sandals [true to size]
4. The wide leg cropped pant
Boden Wide Leg Cropped Pant [true to size] // Polka Dot Top [true to size] // Vince Camuto Carrelen Block Heel Sandal [true to size]
These are probably the most daring style for people to try, I think mostly due to the words “wide leg” that hold people up, but holy adorable. I love how these worked so well on Becca. Just enough feistiness and flair to kick things up a notch in the office. Dress em’ up with some heels and a button up top and y0ur office attire just took a step into the 21st century.
5. The jogger style pant
Leith Tie Waist Pants [size up if in between, wearing in XS but could do in small] // top [size up, wearing in 4] //Sam Edelman – Odila Women’s Shoes [true to size]
When I typically think of joggers I think of all things cozy and pajama-like, so to bring them into the workplace sounds like the best idea EVER. I love the rolled ankle detail and the looser fit on the leg meaning the comfort level is quite high. Tuck in a little top and wham bam look complete!
And there you have it – 5 ways to ditch the black work pants this summer. Which pair[s] are you going to try?
