What would summer be without a concert or thirteen? I love nothing more than an evening with girlfriends or Shawn to sing my heart out, throw those hands up in the air and just be free for three hours of life. Put me in an outdoor setting and it gets even better. Being a huge country music fan, summer is prime time for concerts. While we typically attend CMA Fest in Nashville every June, we are taking a year off to enjoy a few local shows. This year’s lineup includes Jake Owen, Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, Lanco, Walker Hayes and ending things in August with my favorite non-country artist [and one of the best artists to see live in my personal opinion] Ed Sheeran. These shows can’t come soon enough.
Obviously when going to a concert, one has to think about one other thing [aside from how long you’ll need in advance to memorize every song of course], what to wear. You want to look cool while still being comfortable. You need shoes that will allow you to dance the night away, bags that allow your hands to be free and pieces of clothing that will allow you to move to the music. Today I’m bringing you three outfits that will allow you to do just that. Wear one of these and you’ll be the star of the show [move over T Swift, we’ve got a new kid in town ;)]
Outfit numero uno – the sweetest chambray on the market.
American Eagle Drapey Denim Off-The-Shoulder Top [50% off and under $25! true to size, wearing in small] // AE Ne(X)t Level Jegging Crop [true to size] // Vince Camuto Kolema Braided Suede Sandals [20% off w/code MAY, true to size] // Rebecca Minkoff Straw Leo Clutch Clutch // Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible Strapless Bra [the best one I’ve found!] // Earrings [on sale! wearing in medium]
Country concert or not, this look is absolutely adorable for whoever is in the nightly lineup. If it’s too warm where you are for pants, simply swap out this outfit with a white pair of shorts and you’re set! These sandals while they do have a little bit of a heel, are crazy comfortable and shouldn’t leave your feet skipping a beat. Oh and hey, while we are talking about comfort – you’re most likely going to need a good strapless bra to take you through a concert or two this summer and this one has been my tried and true favorite. It actually stays up [I KNOW, WHO KNEW A STRAPLESS BRA WAS CAPABLE] and doesn’t make you want to undress immediately [we’ll leave that job to the tequila ;)]. Moving on.
Next up, for the concerts with a little more rock than roll [or shoot, Justin Bieber, JT, whoever makes you feel like gettin’ down with your bad self] this Rebel Tee is sure to show the crowd who’s boss [Michelle Tanner, obviously].
Rebel Tee [true to size, wearing in small] // Treasure & Bond Legacy Crop Skinny Jeans [true to size] // Pipper Crossbody Straw Camera Bag // Sole Society Stacie Two Piece Frayed Espadrille [true to size] // Earrings [on sale! wearing in medium]
Again, if pants are a no-go throw on some cutoff shorts and you have an even cooler outfit. This crossbody bag is a perfect option as it’s small enough to fit all of those concert regulation bag requirements [there is nothing WORSE than standing in line forever and then getting up to the gate to hand over your ticket and quickly realize you have to take your bag back to your car…been there, been done that]. Prevent those moments with this guy.
Last but not least, we’re going back in the chambray direction with this comfortable as ever dress.
BB Dakota Jack by BB Dakota Minnie Dress [true to size, wearing in small] // Odette Scalloped Flat Sandal [true to size] // Sole Society Aerin Faux Leather Crossbody Bag // Earrings [on sale! wearing in medium]
Have I mentioned yet that it has pockets? THANK YOU DRESS GODS. I paired this cute little thing with some fun flat scalloped sandals and a simple crossbody bag to complete the look. I love that this dress has the lace up detail which provides just the right amount of sexy without exposing all [unfortunately you probably won’t make the big screen with a nip hanging out…on second thought, maybe you will].
Now, who’s ready to rock? What concerts do you have up your sleeve this summer? Let the festivities begin, we ready.
