April Showers Bring…Rain Boot Outfits!

April 14, 2018

With a weekend weather forecast full of rain and nothing but rain + the Hunter collection releasing at Target, I figured there was no better time to bust out my trusted rain boots and put together a few spring-ready outfits for you to splash around in. I for one am a huge advocate of the rain boot trend – not only do they keep your feet dry during all of those soggy days, but they can make such a fun statement to your outfit. When it comes to rain boots, I always opt for the bold colors – go big or go home they say. I love that you can wear rain boots with jeans, day dresses, cute little denim skirts or whatever floats your boat. I did a similar post last year on 4 ways to style Hunter Boots [which you can see right here] and thought I’d do it again for this spring! Let’s jump in and see this round of rain tested and rain approved outfits, shall we?

We shall 😉 Whoever said you can’t be feminine and rock the rain boot trend at the same time is a liar. This tunic has become a closet repeat offender and I love that I don’t have to stop wearing it if a rainy day comes my way. Wearing floral prints with rain boots is a literal play on the whole “April showers bring May flowers” saying and I couldn’t love it more for this reason..

Next up is this oversized button-up shirt which is perfect for a day of errands or cooler morning at the soccer fields. Classic, easy and breezy – paired with a classic pair of red rainboots it doesn’t get much easier than this.

Third on the list, going back in the direction of yellow [it’s not an accident that this blog is called living in yellow ;)] I am obsessed with these french terry shirts from Old Navy and the different color options that they have. It’s nice and lightweight but still provides a little bit of warmth. They pair perfectly with rain boots and the most adorable umbrella from Loft. Who knew a piece of fabric on a metal pole could be that cute?!

Regardless of how you rock your boots, I can promise you that you’ll be glad you have em..mostly for those puddles you come across and can suddenly take advantage of 😉 Or you know, for posing with pictures of Coke bottles. Instagram made me do it.
