My Top Picks From The Backcountry Semi-Annual Sale!
February 19, 2018
Yes, it’s still absolutely freezing here and the snow is almost to my knees. “Spring is coming!” they said. Unless spring comes in the form of white flakes and subzero temps, I might consider “them” a liar. While I’m trying to remain calm about the fact that the only place I can stand to be is indoors, I am celebrating the fact that it’s during this time of the year that all of the best sales on those cold weather items start popping up. The one I am most excited about? My beloved Backcountry semi-annual sale. If you aren’t familiar with Backcountry, we are about the change that once and for all, because believe me, you want to know about them. Backcountry is a premium outdoor and lifestyle retailer based in Park City, Utah and they carry all of your favorite outdoor brands including but not limited to Patagonia, The North Face, Sorel, Prana, Marmot, Free People and more. The best news? During this sale [it goes until February 28th] they have pieces from these brands up to 50% off! If that doesn’t make you jump in your [waterproof, warm, fuzzy] boots I don’t know what will. I take that back – I just found a piece of news that will. TODAY & TOMORROW ONLY [thru 2/20] take an EXTRA 20% off [discount applied in cart]on all of those favorite brands -The North Face, Patagonia, Marmot, and Mountain Hardwear. Add in the fact that they offer free 2-day shipping over $50 and their customer service is out of this world – seriously, the best I’ve ever experienced, there is no reason why Backcountry shouldn’t be a go-to retailer when giving in to your daily online shopping habits.
Today I thought I would share my top finds that I picked up in their big ole sale [remember they have items for women, men, kids, and heck, maybe they even have something for your dog — don’t quote me on that]. Starting with this crazy cute bomber jacket..
I’ve never loved a piece more. It’s crazy warm but it’s the design that makes it even better. I love the mixing of patterns, button detail, neck ties and the fact that it’s not too bulky that you can’t wear it under jackets [proof in the above photos]. Of course, no outfit is complete without shoes, and in my case, waterproof and warm shoes at that, so you best believe I jumped on that Sorel sale so fast. I’m a little bit of a Sorel junkie and while I may not “need” another pair of boots, I neeeeded another pair of boots. You feel me? These furry things were just the ticket and I love that they are higher to manage the endless snow Indiana likes to receive.
Onward to the fun stuff – coats and more pullovers. If you’ve never experienced the power of Patagonia, the time is now. I am obsessed with their Organic Cotton Quilt Snap-T Pullover Sweatshirts and have them in a few colors now! The color combos are spot on and again, surprise, surprise – their products are super warm and comfortable without being too big and bulky.
I tried out one more jacket for good time’s sake and oh my word. I landed on this gem and it turns out that this jacket is also the softest cuddliest yet flattering jacket I’ve found to date. The inside is like a fuzzy blanket that you never want to get out of. Speaking of fuzzy blankets, these Patagonia Re-Tool Snap-T Fleece Pullovers are just that.
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
