It’s officially been one month and three weeks since little Max and Ollie have entered our lives. I never ever thought I would be a boy mom, but here I am, raising not just one, but TWO boys. This means double the pee, double the chewing and double the muddy baths given on the daily. As crazy as it has been, these two little brothers have brought so much joy into our lives in such a small amount of time. Yes, I’m still working on the whole cuddling thing along with teaching them that it isn’t socially acceptable to eat goose poop, but we’re getting there.
In case you haven’t been properly introduced to these two Poovanese [half poodle half havanese], allow me…
Meet Max. He’s our little chocolate runt. His eyes look like a little human and I want to eat his cute face all day long. He is the one who can fall asleep in a second when on the boat or in the car, loves a good squeaky toy more than any dog I’ve ever seen and has no shame in his crate sleeping game.
Next up, Ollie, also known as Black Olive. He has a thing for chewing on ears [it appears we have a little Mike Tyson on our hands], prefers to lay on the hardwood floors rather than a couch, has a way of hugging you when you hold him, is quite a bit antsier than his brother and loves dirt like his mom loves macaroni and cheese. He also thinks it’s quite entertaining to dig in his water bowl which is super fun to clean up!
Together they are quite the 5-pound dynamic duo and wherever one goes, the other follows. They are truly inseparable and probably my favorite thing is how they demand to sleep typically on top of each other. Their bond is fierce and while they love each other more than they do us, I’m still grateful to [hopefully] be runner-up in their lives.
One of the things Shawn and I loved most with Maggie was our walks. It’s taken a little while but I think the boys are finally starting to understand what it means to be on a leash which means hoooooray, walks! A weekend or two ago we ventured off to a local park to take them on their first official walk and I am happy to report that it went better than expected.

To get these little Max and Ollie walking adventures underway I knew I needed a fresh and new outfit [because obviously] so when I saw this fun spring looking track suit at Finish Line I knew it was just the ticket. They have all sorts of new arrivals that are light, bright and airy for the season ahead. Take for instance these white, light pink and gold Adidas Superstar shoes [so cute]. From women’s shoes, apparel, and even accessories they have you covered from head to toe. Side note – if you need a new sports bra, I picked this one up for only $25 and love it! I love being able to look somewhat put together and especially comfortable when walking the streets of our neighborhood and I can officially say that I can do just that thanks to these new finds.
We are excited to watch these little balls of spunk continue to grow and watch their small but mighty [side note – they don’t bark. ever. literally, the most silent dogs on the planet] personalities come alive. Max and Ollie, your momma and dad love you so. But seriously, you can be potty trained now. Please and thank you.
