With any new season brings a fresh opportunity to get a little creative and play around with your wardrobe a bit. Summer is quite possibly my favorite season to get dressed. Mostly because typically minimal clothing is required and it just so turns out I am on team no clothes. However, when it is absolutely required [my husband still has a problem with me wanting to get groceries naked..it’s a little dramatic of him, I know] there are a few trends I am especially loving right now. I figured it was time I share.
1. Lace anything.
It’s flirty, it’s romantic, and it keeps me from sweating like a stuck hog. All great qualities if you ask me.

2. USA! USA! USA!
I must admit-I was a teeny bit more in love with these shorts when USA still had a chance at winning the world cup, but regardless they are pretty dope. I can’t wait to wear these every single day this weekend as it’s bound to happen. Also, as a side note I should mention here that chanting USA is probably on my top 5 favorite things to do in any public setting [preferably a bar or concert]. Legit it brings tears to my eyes. That may have to do with the alcohol which was most likely consumed prior to said chant, but I would like to think it is my festive spirit.
3. Dresses with Pockets.
This goes without saying, but can we just give it up for pockets? I don’t know why dresses are ever made without them other than the people making them obviously know nothing about priorities and cell phones.
4. Anchors and more Anchors.
If I had it my way, I would live on the water. I don’t even need a boat, just throw me in an inter tube for the rest of my existence and I would be set. And because I don’t have an anchor tattoo’d on me [yet] I have to rely on my clothes to get the job done. Anchor down baby.
5. Aztec Prints
Not sure if you knew this or not but I am part Indian. Cherokee or Muscogee most likely. Now that I mention it I am pretty sure I was born on a reserve. To pay tribute to my heritage, I find it necessary to wear aztec these days. Gotta represent where I come from, ya know? Also, it should be noted that I wasn’t born on a reserve but I do think I am 13% Indian. Where’s my feather crown when I need one?
