So as you may or may not know, I’ve been trying to eat all “healthy” lately.
Then again, it’s January 14th…who isn’t?
Regardless, as you know..fruit equals healthy.
So you wanna make some healthy?
Stick some fruit on it.
Say for instance, a large cookie with cream cheese, cool whip, and sugar.
It instantly transforms something from “not so good for you” to making you believe you are eating negative calories.
Or somethin’ like that.
Friends, allow me to introduce you to my favorite “diet” dessert…
FRUIT PIZZA
Ingredients:
16.5 oz package cookie dough {you may use sugar or chocolate chip}
8 oz package cream cheese, softened
8 oz container cool whip
Whatever fruits your heart desires
Sugar to sprinkle over top
Directions:
-Roll out cookie dough on pizza sheet and bake according to cookie package
{mine was 350 degrees for 8 minutes)
-Allow cookie to cool for 10 minutes or so in refrigerator
-Combine cream cheese and cool whip and spread over top of cookie
-Arrange your fruit any which way
-Sprinkle sugar all over the top of it
-Enjoy 🙂
So I presented this beautiful masterpiece to my husband like so:
and the first words out of his mouth were
“You left the skin on the kiwi??!”
Frick.
I left the skin on the kiwis.
Hear me out on this.
During the cutting of these fruits, I had a whole mental debate on whether or not the skin is supossed to be left on those little Kiwis or not.
And while half of my brain thought “This doesn’t seem quite right..”
The other half of my brain kept telling me
“Surely they would not make a fruit that requires you to peel off the skin before eating. That’s just wrong.”
Two points here-
1. I am not sure who I am referring to as “they” in that thought above
2. My brain must’ve forgotten about bananas, oranges, and pineapples during the mental debate.
So what did I do?
I took the pizza to our friends with the skins on and informed them they could peel them off themselves.
Duh.
Skins or no skins, the pizza was pretty delicious if you ask me.
And my friends.
And my husband.
You get the point.
Oh and if you want to get all fancy pants with it like my homegirl Becky
you can individual size em’ like so.
“Hello cute pizza. So nice to eat you.”
Yes, I ate fruit pizza twice this week.
Twice.
I can feel the pounds just melting off…
**Word of the wise: This dessert is not actually “healthy” per say. Please don’t inhale it like it’s your job and think that the pounds will start dropping.
But do definitely count it as a serving {or four} of fruit**
Happy Weekend Ya Little Fruits.
