Katy here – one the the LIY content creators! 👋 My best friend and her husband live in Georgetown, KY, just outside of Lexington! We recently took a trip to visit them, and it inspired me to round up some of the spots we visited and loved along the way! Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, visiting friends, or just passing through the Bluegrass State, these are a few places worth adding to your list. 💙✨

What to Do:

HOTWORX Studio

Get your workout in at HOTWORX Studio [my bff is the owner!] you can use any in the country with your membership or just try out a free class on your vacay!

Churchill Downs

Hop over to Louisville [1 hour drive] to visit the beautiful and historic Churchill downs [home of the Kentucky Derby] races too!

Evans Orchard

Evans Orchard has something for everyone. Bring the kids for a day of fun while enjoying a homemade fried apple pie and cider slushy. All Spring, Summer and Fall, there is a variety of activities for all to enjoy!

Old Friends Farm

Visit Old Friends’ Dream Chase Farm and meet retired Thoroughbred athletes up close!

Kentucky Horse Park

Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm, international equestrian competition venue, and an educational theme park!

Where to Eat:

Country Boy Brewing

Amazing wings, great beer, and plenty of space for the kiddos to run around – this place is a WIN!

Merrick Inn

SUCH beautiful grounds and the food was amazing! The lobster nachos are a must try!

Castle & Key Distillery

Venture out to bourbon country and visit the beautiful Castle & Key distillery!
