The Best No-Show Seamless Panties

March 30, 2023

By:

Okay panty-wearing people, it’s time to get personal. We all know [and despise] the dreaded panty line. Whether you’re lounging in leggings or all gussied up in a fitted dress, nothing kills an outfit [and your confidence!] quite like the notorious undergarment seam. We get it, the wrong undies can be a real buzzkill. So if you’re not ready to skip and go commando, never fear – LIY is here! Hannah, Fashion & Design Specialist here at Living in Yellow [meet her here!], took one for the team by slipping into over 15+ pairs of seamless underwear to find the best no-show panties on the market! We broke them down by style so whether you’re into thongs or high-rise briefs, we’ve got you – and your rear end – covered. See ya never, panty lines.

For sizing reference, Hannah is a size XS-Small and wearing all panties in size small. We found nearly every pair to run small, so in order to avoid a line in the hip/waist area, we suggest going up at least one size!

Thong Cut

Best Overall: Aerie No Show

Overall Favorite

Aerie No Show Thong
I REALLY liked these. They fit and feel really nice and I didn’t feel like I was being cut in half, unlike some of the other brands we tried. They’re super soft and silky and fit true to size! My only complaint is that they do roll a bit when I walk. They would be great with leggings or more fitted bottoms to help hold them in place.

More Brands We Tried:

  • Soma Intimates – These ran really small, size up! I found them very uncomfortable and felt like I was being cut in half! They might be better in a larger size, but these were just too tight.
  • Skims Soft Smoothing – These were comfortable, but again, ran small – size up at least one! I would recommend these for everyday wear with jeans or joggers, but wouldn’t wear with an event style dress. They’re very high rise and sit high on the hip.
  • Alo Yoga – These were very lightweight and didn’t really feel like I was wearing anything – which is a good thing if you’re into that. They still felt a bit small and cut into my hip – size up in these!
  • Intimissimi Seamless Thong – NO NO NO! Uncomfortable, and way too small. -10000/10 do NOT recommend. Scratchy. Itchy. Look like they’re made for children!

Hipster & Cheeky Cut

Best Overall: Calvin Klein

Overall Favorite

Calvin Klein
I’m a little bit bias because I don’t prefer this style/rise in general. They wen’t very comfortable [I felt like my booty was going to eat these up!] and were more cheeky than the others. But if you’re someone who prefers this cheekier cut, they ranked highest in group for no-showing! Again, I would suggest going up a size in these.

More Brands We Tried:

  • Target Auden – No, just no. Felt like a confused saggy thong.
  • Nordstrom Chantelle – These feel like the underwear they give you after giving birth – if you know, you know. They fit more like bikini style and are actually pretty comfortable if you can get past the post-labor feel! Comfy for fuller coverage, everyday wear with jeans, but we could see the lines while wearing the dress.
  • Macy’s Alfani – RUN SO SMALL. Like, couldn’t-get-over-my-booty small. I thought my butt might break them. Too small.

Bikini Cut Style

Best Overall: Nude Barre

Overall Favorite

Nude Barre
These were pretty comfy, but I did feel like my butt was eating them. There’s really not much substance to them, but they are super comfortable and showed the least amount of lines from the group we tried! I would probably wear these on my period LOL.

More Brands We Tried:

  • Skims Free Cut – DO NOT like these, went right up my crack! For the price, you would expect Skims to be much better quality and fit. Just not comfortable. This style is confused – meant to be a bikini cut, but ended up fitting like a thong. So uncomfortable!
  • Target Auden – NOT seamless and not comfortable. They’re a thick, heavy cotton. I felt like my butt gained 5 pounds! These are just BAD. They’re very uncomfortable and cut under my belly. They claim to be seamless, but have thick seams around the leg holes! Just no.
  • Lululemon Invisi-Wear – I had high hopes for this Lulu pair, but they were just overall too small. If you decide to give them a try, make sure you size up! They were hard to get on then felt like they were cutting me in half.

High Waisted Brief Cut

Best Overall: Old Navy Soft-Knit No-Show Brief

Overall Favorite

Old Navy Soft-Knit No-Show Brief
We had a wardrobe change for this cut, because I wouldn’t recommend a brief style panty with a fitted dress in general. I really liked these from Old Navy! They’re a soft, true seamless material. They showed lines a little bit, but by far the best out of the “brief” category, and under $10! They’re very thin and not shaping at all, but very lightweight. They did rolled a little bit, but to be expected with this material.

More Brands We Tried:

  • Soma Soft Stretch Brief – SO SO SO BAD. See-through, super tight, showed EVERYTHING [looked like panty hose fabric!!
  • Target Auden – These are THICC. They kind of hurt to wear… the material is thick and heavy and the seam cut uncomfortably into my hips and thighs. Not a true seamless fit or material!
  • Spanx Everyday Shaping – We love all-things Spanx and had high hopes for this pair. Unfortunately they’re not a true seamless option, with a thick band around the leg openings. They are high waisted and smoothing in the front around tummy area. I do like these, but the heavier compression material is more like shapewear vs. everyday panties. The did show lines since the material is so thick! I will say they hold you in nicely, if your focusing on your tummy area. I liked these for shaping and sucking in, but not for a seamless everyday wear.
  • Victoria’s Secret – These were a monstrosity. Not good. Super high waisted to suck in tummy, but the butt lines were BAD! Fine for everyday wear, but definitely NOT seamless!!
