AHHH skincare. It’s a journey right? Personally, skin has been battle for me since acne started popping up in my early teens and has continued to stick around throughout my 20’s. (Read about my hormonal journey with PCOS here or pregnancy after loss here). With all of that said, clean products and taking care of my skin/body are important to me. A great quality brand you love can be hard to find, but Biossance did NOT disappoint. It’s an incredibly sustainable brand that bans over 2,000 toxic ingredients (the US only legally bans 12). Cheers to skincare that you can feel good about; from the inside out!
P.S. They are currently having their annual Friends & Family sale through 9/4, so stock up now!
Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel // Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil // Squalane Oil // Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen // Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm
All Biossance products use an ingredient called “Squalane” and if you are also thinking “What the heck is that?!” you’re not alone…but it’s actually amazing!
The human body produces its own version of squalane called squalene, but the amount made and retained decreases as you get older. Ahhhh the fun of aging.
Biossance found a way to produce squalane as safely and effectively as the body does. Their squalane comes from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane, then is bio-fermented to create a highly stable, totally sustainable and eco-friendly squalane. Squalane is the skin’s best moisturizer that is suitable for all skin types.
Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel
GOODBYE EYE PUFF! The older I get, the more those little lines like to make their appearance. While I am thankful for them and know they are from squinting on a sunny day at my favorite lake to laughing with my best friend…I also know that taking care of my skin with products like eye gel can help prevent and slow fine lines from going deeper than they really need to be! I feel like this gel truly does reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
This rose oil has been a favorite for awhile now here at LIY; and for good reason! It improves tone and texture, boots firmness, and hydrates skin. Did I mention that it smells amazing?!
The oil that does it all! How to use Squalane Oil:
- FACE: Gently pat on a small amount to moisturize skin, use as after sun soother, as shave oil and soothing post-shave or apply as lip moisture and lip color primer .
- BODY: Massage into skin after showering, paying extra attention to dry areas, use as cuticle and nail moisturizer, smoothing foot moisturizer or to get skin glowing.
- HAIR: Smooth sparingly through dry or wet hair to tame flyaways, split ends and frizz., create the perfect sleek ponytail or make a hair moisture mask.
Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen
Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen
So many sunscreens have a thousand chemicals that I don’t feel good about putting on my body, so I was so happy to find this one! Sunscreen is not only important to apply on those pool days but everyday! You can layer makeup on top of this one with no pilling or issues.
Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm
I’m not sure that I can ACTUALLY pick a favorite product, but if I had to this lip balm may be it. My lips feel SO hydrated and good after I apply this and the ingredient, Wakame algae, helps restore the look of lip plumpness within 14 days – YES PEASE.
We only have one body and it’s easier said than done, but I hope to treat it with love and respect and to love the skin I’m in!
