Cooking With The Cast Iron Always Pan

June 24, 2022

Disclosure: Thank you to Our Place and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post. I am so fortunate to work with brands that I truly love and use in my daily life.

It’s not common that the arrival of a new pan makes for the most exciting part of my week, but this week, that happened. If you’ve been around LIY for a little while, you have most likely heard me talk about the one pan that I swear by for all of your cooking needs – well, that same pan is now available in a brand new version, introducing the Cast Iron Always Pan. That’s right, Our Place decided to bring everybody’s favorite Always Pan into a cast iron version to elevate your cooking experience even more. It turns out I wasn’t the only one excited about this release – the wait list for this pan was over 30,000 😱

Here’s what you need to know about it [aside from the obvious – the pan looks so good on your stove, on your table, anywhere in your kitchen, just look at those colors]. With this Cast Iron Always Pan you can now take your favorite pan from the stove directly to the oven [and even broiler], grill, sear, fry, saute, bake, broil, stew, braise, and serve..all from just one pan. I am ordering this grill press to master the art of smash burgers at home next [yes, my mouth is watering just thinking about it].

A few quick words about why I love working with Our Place and the impact they are making! Shiza Shahid co-founded Our Place to build a business rooted in representation and impact. Shiza grew up in Pakistan as a vocal advocate for women’s rights and social justice. She co-founded the Malala Fund with her friend Malala Yousafzai and built the organization as founding CEO.  She was named one of Time Magazine’s 30 people changing the world. Shiza launched Our Place to bring people together around food and home-cooking. Guided by this vision, Our Place gives back to causes from food justice to civil rights.

Now, on to this pan…

I was so excited to see that it has the same built-in spoon rest just like the original Always Pan! The Cast Iron Always Pan does come with heat grips that slide onto the handles for heat-free handling!

Another favorite feature is the glass lid that you can see your masterpiece while cooking away.

The pan itself weighs 6.9 pounds [she is legit friends] which is just the right weight for not having any hot spots and maximum heat retention. I haven’t even scratched the surface of what this pan is capable of yet – I feel like my world of cooking has been opened up to so many ideas with this pan. I did mention my desire to master the world of smash burgers, right? Between this pan and this grill press, all things are possible.

Take your masterpiece from the stove directly to the oven to bake if needed and then from the oven to the table to serve directly from! When I say this pan does it all, I really mean, it does it all. Who’s ready to jump on the cast iron train with me?!
