White Denim For Spring

April 21, 2022

Erin Schrader

Disclosure: Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for partnering on today’s post. All products were selected, worn, and loved by yours truly.

I’ve never been one to follow the rules. From speed limits to meeting deadlines and that whole “no white jeans until after Memorial Day”, I just can’t obey. I am not sure who created that silly wardrobe rule, but friend I’m here to tell you, it’s time to break it. The only reason I can think it was ever put into play is because most women like to make the switch from red wine to white wine somewhere near the beginning of summer and well, when you’re talking white denim, we all know red wine mix with your favorite white jeans [been there, done that]. Let this be a lesson to all of us – start making the switch earlier in the year so we can maximize our time to let our white denim shine!

Now, when talking about white denim selections, you better believe the first place I’m going to look is Nordstrom [which also happens to be the first place I look for anything that I need in my closet]! Example: iust look at the 700+ options they have right now for white denim! On second thought, maybe don’t because we already did the dirty work for you and today I’m sharing the pair[s] I think are worth checking out [and yes, they all checked the “not sheer” box!] From skinny to straight, there’s a pair for all preferences below!

As you know, denim in general can be tricky which is why buying it from Nordstrom is the smartest decision you can make – from their always free shipping and returns [for up to one year!] and their stellar customer service, you can have peace of mind as you make your way through their internet denim aisles!

The Skinny Jean

Connie High Waist Raw Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans • KUT from the Kloth [size down if in between, wearing in 2] // Colby Raw Edge Top • Free People [size down one, wearing in XS] // Air Presto Sneaker • Nike [true to size]

Skinny jeans will never be a thing of the past for me [although I should learn by now to “never say never” when it comes to fashion]. This pair with the raw hem is a great price point and is super comfortable and stretchy for days on the go!

The Straight Leg Jean

Kennedy Distressed Ankle Straight Leg Jeans • Liverpool Los Angeles [true to size, wearing in 2] // Leopard Print Shirred Tie Neck Blouse • 1 STATE [true to size, wearing in small] // Paily Slide Sandal • Dolce Vita [true to size, wearing in the color cafe]

It took me a solid year of straight leg jeans being on the scene before I got comfortable with them…and now they are all I want to wear. Give me anything Liverpool and I’m sold. This pair has so much personality going for it – from the raw hem to the slight distressing, it’s a cool pair you can dress up or down!

The Shorts

Ozzie Cutoff Denim Shorts • Joe’s Jeans [true to size, wearing in 27] // Puff Sleeve Clip Dot Top • CeCe [true to size, wearing in small] // Miller Soft Sandal • Tory Burch [size up .5]

We can’t talk about white denim for spring without having a pair of white jean shorts included. It is HARD to find a pair of great white shorts – the first concern [as with any and all white denim] is sheerness. Thankfully, these don’t have any of that! I love that these are a 4-inch inseam and if you haven’t caught on by now, I have a thing for raw edges. Rules and clean hemlines: two things I could live without 😉

The Boyfriend Jean

Brigitte Ripped Raw Cuff Boyfriend Jeans • Paige [true to size, wearing in 27] // Ruched Ruffle Shoulder Sleeveless Blouse • Wit & Wisdom [true to size, wearing in small] // Paily Slide Sandal • Dolce Vita [true to size, wearing in the color cafe]

Last but not least, the boyfriend jeans. While these are the biggest splurge of the bunch, I know this brand will last for years. They are high-quality, high visual appeal. I love the cuffs and looser fit for a relaxed summer look!

As much as I love shorts season [aka summer] I sometimes despise the actual “denim shorts season” itself. Shorts can be tricky. Sometimes they are too tight, too short, too loose and the list of all of the discomforts of shorts goes on. Today, we’re here to put some of those discomforts to rest and […]

If there’s one trend I’m happily hopping on board with, it’s the white sneaker rage. Maybe they never went out of style, maybe it’s more socially acceptable than ever to wear tennies with every. single. outfit. Either way, I’m here for it.
