The Warmest Gear to Get Outdoors This Winter

December 21, 2021

Disclosure: Thank you to Backcountry and ShopStyle Collective for partnering for today’s post. All products were chosen, worn, and loved by yours truly!

Living in Indiana, we get a few months of glorious -spend every second outdoors- weather each and every summer. But then comes Fall, and after Fall comes Winter. And in Indiana, Winter means short, gray days. When this happens, I tend to find myself cuddling up on the couch and spending more time inside than out. This year I’m changing that!

Myself and a few of the ladies on the LIY Team are encouraging each other to get outdoors each day, even when it’s cold. Take the pups on a walk, go explore a new walking trail, or even enjoy my tea alfresco! The game-changer is going to be having the right gear for even the coldest of days, and that’s where Backcountry is coming into play.

I’ve always loved Backcountry’s selection of some of my favorite brands, like Patagonia, The North Face, Sorel, Free People, and more, and their customer service is seriously the absolute best! When I knew I wanted to get the right clothes to spend some extended time outside I knew Backcountry was going to be my first [and well, only] stop. As soon as I took these new pieces for a test drive, I knew they were going to do just the trick this Winter!

BONUS: Right now you can score up to 40% off exclusive apparel from Stoic, Basin and Range, and Backcountry brands to get you outdoors too during their Exclusive Styles Sale! If you haven’t shopped with them before, use code YELLOW15 for 15% off your first order [exclusions apply]! So let’s bundle up and go soak up some fresh air!

As much as I love shorts season [aka summer] I sometimes despise the actual “denim shorts season” itself. Shorts can be tricky. Sometimes they are too tight, too short, too loose and the list of all of the discomforts of shorts goes on. Today, we’re here to put some of those discomforts to rest and […]

If there’s one trend I’m happily hopping on board with, it’s the white sneaker rage. Maybe they never went out of style, maybe it’s more socially acceptable than ever to wear tennies with every. single. outfit. Either way, I’m here for it.
