How to Decorate Your Tree in 10 Minutes or Less

November 2, 2021

Erin Schrader

The time for the Great Christmas Tree Debate is here! You know, the debate over when is the “right” time to put up the tree. While we don’t believe in a “right or wrong” time to decorate around here, we do believe in making the process as stress-free as possible. So whether your tree is already up, or you’re pushing it off until after Thanksgiving [orrrr.. the night before Christmas 😉 ], we’re sharing our latest breakthrough in holiday decor hacks.

The LIY Team recently kicked off the holidays with a little friendly competition of tree decorating. That’s right – we love just about anything that can be turned into a game around here. Here’s how it worked: we split into two teams and set a timer for 10 minutes. Each team got a chance to decorate the tree, and to our surprise, we ended up having time left over – meaning we decorated our trees in less than 10 minutes! If you’re the type of person who prefers quick and easy holiday decor, this no-fuss hack is for you! Here’s how we did it…

Wondershop Ornament Kits

Ornament Kits [85 Pieces, Evergreen and Aubergine] // Hammered Tree Collar // Star Tree Topper

Introducing Wondershop Ornament Kits! These kits – with up to 100 pieces [we used the 85 count and had plenty of ornaments to spare] – are truly a game changer! We love that they are available in 11 themes and color combinations to match every style and can be stored away in their original packaging. The box is pretty heavy duty and includes dividers to keep the contents protected during the off season. Most of the ornaments are even pre-hung so they can put directly on the tree! Hooks are included in the kit for the ornaments that do need them! Quick Tip: If you’re looking to save even more extra time, we recommend starting with a pre-lit tree!

Finishing Touches

Ornament Kit [85 Pieces, Soft Metallics] // Tree Skirt // Star Tree Topper

To top it off – literally – we added a Star Tree Topper, wrapped it all with garland, and finished up with a tree skirt to pull it all together. Of course, this wasn’t a one woman show. If you have a few helping hands around the house, we recommend recruiting as many elves as you can to speed up the process and soak up the holiday cheer! And just like that, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! You can shop all of the ornament kits here! We used Soft Metallics for a gold color scheme and Evergreen and Aubergine for a classic, colorful Christmas look. Happy Holidays, friends!
