Three Gifts to Drop on the Doorstep

December 1, 2020

The holidays this year are looking a little different for our family, and I am wondering if the same is true for you. It’s hard knowing that we may not be able to spend time with all of our loved ones over the holidays, especially this year when we all feel like we need a little extra love. With a little creativity, we can still try and send our friends and family a little holiday cheer even if we aren’t able to give the gift of our presence! The LIY team put together three ideas for gifts to drop on the doorsteps of your friends or family to add a little festivity to their at home holiday! We scoured the internet to find some great ideas, so all you have to do is ring the doorbell and give a socially distanced wave from the driveway!

Gift One: Spa Day

Robe // Candle // Bath Bombs // Sheet Masks // Tray

This Spa Day gift tray is filled with all the items to pamper someone in your life. This gift is perfect for someone living alone or as a surprise for a mom, or anyone who could use some “me time”! Or add a matching set of robes for a gift for a couple or even a whole family who could use some relaxation!

Gift Two: Game Night

Blue Backgammon + Chess Game // Chalk “Scoreboard” // Dash Popcorn Maker // Popcorn // Vintage Bookshelf Clue // Bright Games Dominos // Tray [similar]

This next gift idea is a fun invitation to enjoy some good old family fun! Whether you gift it to a family or a couple, they will enjoy the excitement of game night together!  Maybe you could even take the competition up a notch by Zooming in for a virtual family vs. family Game Night!

Gift Three: Holiday Breakfast
Donut Tower  // Juice Carafe // Merry Christmas Mug // I Believe Mug // Be Merry Mug // Bottoms Up Mug // Tray [similar]

If you can’t be together to eat your holiday breakfast, you can still share the yums by dropping off some goodies! From donuts and coffee to festive make-your-own mimosas, this tray has all the breakfast treats for a holiday morning! You can rework this gift to fit whatever your go-to holiday breakfast style is — donuts, bagels, casserole, etc. Anything and everything goes!

Twenty twenty has brought so many hard things, including changing what our holidays look like. But going the little extra mile of dropping a gift off on a friend or family member’s porch can really lift their spirits! Add a little creativity and thoughtfulness, and maybe there will be some memories to look back on with fondness once this whole thing blows over. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season, from all of us at LIY!

Love these ideas! I really wanted to send my parents a holiday meal kit. It looks like HomeChef is sold out. Any other reasonable ideas? Harry & David is.so pricey.

  3. Kathy Barnhart says:

Love these! I am doing something similar but am throwing in this Crate & Barrel dish towel-https://www.crateandbarrel.com/o-hole-y-night-dish-towel/s640381. I wish there were more options for less expensive trays or baskets though.
