Disclosure: Thank you to Dyson and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post. I’m so thankful to work with brands that I love and use!
Santa came a little early in this household this year. I had no idea two months ago when I put this Dyson Corrale straightener on my wish list that just a few months later I’d be beaming from cheek to cheek with the smoothest, silkiest, straightest hair in tow. Let’s back up for a minute, shall we? It was in 2018 when I was first introduced to the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer thanks to my beloved hairdresser. This is the problem with going to the salon, they use all of these fancy, best of the best products on you, you fall in love with how your hair looks [and feels] and then you immediately proceed to buy everything they used in hopes of recreating that salon-style hair at home. Turns out, doing said thing will work, especially when said products are Dyson.
Combine the insane power it packs, modern-looking design, and years and years of high-quality use, it proved to me that paying a little more will go a long way. Now, let’s get back to the real matter at hand, this star of the show, Dyson Corrale straightener.
I’ve been wanting a new straightener for quite some time as I felt like my current one was leaving a lot to be desired in the overall look [and health] of my hair after use. When I spotted this exclusive gift set [straightener, paddle brush, and detangling comb all included] my eyes may have bulged out of my head daydreaming about what it may feel like to use such a device. Well, let me tell you what it’s like…
For starters, it’s cord-free. Yes, you read that right. A hair straightener that you can use without the fuss of any cord in your way. Shoot, maybe I’d bust it out of my purse at a local coffee shop and straighten up or heck, I could style my hair while sitting in my car as I wait on my carry-out to go. The world is your oyster with where you can use this. It does come with a docking station that charges it while not in use and like any Dyson design, is a site for beautiful eyes.
Aside from being cordless [one of my favorite features], it has different heat settings [ranging from 330 Fahrenheit to 410 degrees Fahrenheit] which reaches whatever selected heat in seconds, it has an auto-shutoff feature after 10 minutes of no use for peace of mind [hi, I need peace of mind when it comes to hot tools], has a universal voltage plug for international travel, AND the BEST for last — the allows you to use half the heat which means half the damage thanks to its flexing plates that naturally gathers the hair as you run it through [*Thermal damage measured by hair strength when creating an equivalent hair style. Tested on flexing plates vs solid plates]. This Dyson Corrale truly leaves my hair shinier and smoother than I’ve ever experienced before. The even better news? I’ve been able to drop my heat by 100 degrees from my previous hot tool which has my hair feeling better than it ever has.
Once my hair is tangle-free, it’s time to go. I’ve been using this at 330 degrees which has worked well on my thick, coarse, hair. I like to section off my hair to make sure I’m getting it all. I simply slowly run it through in about 1-2 inch sections and watch it work its magic. Can you see the smooth / shiny appeal it creates after one pass through?
The flexing plates that you see on the edge truly grab your individual strands of hair and gather them together as you’re going down, creating this smooth straight style you see. Care to see a before and after? Ask and you shall receive…About 5 minutes later, my hair has gone from a frizzy, fly-away city high and flipped-out mess to a sleek, smooth, salon feeling blowout that makes me feel like somebody who is proud and excited to show off her hair.
