Disclosure: Thank you to Etsy and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post. All products were selected, purchased and loved by Team LIY!
Small businesses have been so heavy on my heart the past few weeks. Er.. months? How long have we been here? I don’t know what day it is; I don’t know if I should be wearing pants– the answer is no– and I’m convinced queso is a socially acceptable form of breakfast these days, but that’s neither here nor there. Let’s take a trip down memory lane. It wasn’t so long ago that Living in Yellow was just a tiny online diary run solely by yours truly. As a business owner myself, I know firsthand the countless hours of dedication it takes to keep things running smoothly. Truly, blood [you’d be surprised], sweat [I run hot], tears, and many, many cups of coffee. And right now, we need each other more than ever.
In a time where small businesses need us most, Team LIY is proud to turn to Etsy to “Stand with Small.” If you’re new to shopping Etsy, you’re in for a treat. Etsy is a global online marketplace made up of independent creators. A fancy way of saying a place where creative people [craftier than I’ll ever be] come together to make, buy, sell, or collect just about anything and everything. You can get to know Etsy a little bit better and learn more about the campaign here. With products this good, it wasn’t difficult to do our part in shopping small. If there’s one thing you can always count on, it’s Team LIY doing our part to support a good business. Really, it’s our pleasure. That being said, today, we’re sharing a few of our Etsy finds, and we hope to encourage you to #StandwithSmall and do your part in shopping small. Here’s to keeping small businesses strong!
ERIN’S LIP BALM
Eco Friendly Lip Balm [in lavender vanilla]
One use and I was hooked. This vegan lip balm is a zero-waste product with its 100% recycled packaging. The lip balm is very hydrating and has the best lavender vanilla scent/flavor. I now want one of each [there are so many different flavors to choose from, next on my list – chai tea and lemongrass ginger]. It’s just the cutest little thing but packs a big punch! Side note: simply push up from the bottom for more lip balm to appear [I kept trying to twist somehow, and it wasn’t working ;)] I know you’ll love these!
ERIN’S SCRUNCHIES
Silk Scrunchie [wearing in ivory]
My first scrunchie since I was 12 and I couldn’t be more excited about it. When I spotted these, I knew I wanted to try one. They are beautifully made with the silk fabric, and the bow isn’t overwhelming. I was very impressed with the quality of these scrunchies after opening and wearing and would highly recommend them! Whether you rock your hair in a full pony or a little bun on the top of your head, this is the perfect accessory to bring your look to life!
ERIN’S CANDLE
This was the first item that arrived from my Etsy haul, and as soon as I opened the package, I was instantly reminded how great it is to support small and the personalized details that come with it. The shop owner packaged the candle in the prettiest way and wrote a handwritten note stating that she doesn’t normally package them like a gift; however, with the state of the world we are in thought we could all use an extra reason to smile right now. It literally warmed my heart, and I told myself in that moment I’ll be a customer of hers for life. The candle is beautiful and so chic, making it the perfect option to decorate with. It also has a light, delightful smell that isn’t overpowering but relaxing and calming.
ERIN’S SOAP
Cold Process Soap [in pink grapefruit + salt]
Can we just appreciate how pretty this soap is for a minute? Not only is it beautiful, but it smells delightful as well! I love that this soap makes a statement and is made with completely natural ingredients that don’t dry my hands out. I bought this soap dish to go with it [how joyful is that?!] but am waiting on its arrival! We can’t do enough washing of our hands right now; we may as well be washing with something that makes us smile!
BECCA’S CANDLE
Okay, yum! This candle smells delicious. Light it up, and it’s like sitting in a coffee shop — and boy am I missing sitting in coffee shops right now! My favorite thing is that while this smells like a delicious cinnamon chai latte, the candle, jar, and label are all white, crisp, clean, and modern! It is as pleasant to look at as it is to smell, which is a big win in my books!
BECCA’S SCALP SCRUB
I wanted to try this scalp scrub for a couple of reasons — one, I have noticed a lot of buildup on my scalp and two, I have been experiencing postpartum hair loss. I haven’t been able to use this product long enough to speak to its effects on the later, but I can definitely attest to its ability to eradicate that build up on the scalp! My scalp feels fresh, and I didn’t even know that was a thing! I like that this product has more natural ingredients, and I will definitely continue to use it for a healthier head that hopefully leads to healthier hair!
STEPH’S LETTERING KIT
I have been wanting to try out hand lettering for a while, and this kit was the perfect way to get started! It came with so many fun writing and art utensils to play around with and a handy book explaining how to use each one. I have been enjoying testing out my new skills, and my kids have even been grabbing some paper and testing out their skills as well.
HANNAH’S CANDLE
This candle is so simple and chic and smells A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! It arrived in the prettiest packaging, and I couldn’t light it fast enough! It has the lightest smell but packs a punch and so refreshing! I can’t even describe how it smells [a mix of mint and all of your favorite essential oils], but it’s good!
HANNAH’S TONER
I don’t think my skin knows what season we’re in because the weather in Indiana keeps bouncing around. BUT this facial toner has been a hydrating game changer! I have sensitive skin, but this hasn’t caused a single breakout and kept my skin hydrated! It also smells good, which makes this one a skincare must-have!
CASSIDY’S SOAP DISPENSER + CADDY
Walnut Bathroom Caddy // Amber Glass Soap Dispenser
My original plan for this walnut stained caddy was for my bathroom [just add a toothbrush holder and soap dispenser], but I actually love that way it looked in my kitchen! I put my glass oil dispensers and dried florals in it and BAM! So cute and organized! Ps. Have you been seeing these glass amber soap dispensers everywhere!? I love how they totally transform your countertop and take mismatched soaps and give them that classy, uniform look! I totally plan on placing them all throughout my new home!
LAUREN’S SALT SOAK
Palermo Replenishing Salt Soak
At the end of a day of working around the house, nothing feels better than a relaxing bath. And what’s a bath without a little added something? Insert this Palermo Replenishing Salt Soak! They smell so good, and the container and salts themselves are beautiful for keeping around the tub! While I did love the smell of these salts, I kind of felt like the scent disappeared once they were in the water. However, I like a nice strong smell for my at-home spa setting, so if you like something more subtle, this salt soak may be exactly what you’re looking for!
LAUREN’S SALT SCRUB
Moisturizing Whipped Salt Scrub
Wow! I loved this lavender salt scrub! The smell, the texture, the real dried lavender in the mix, the end result – all of it! I used this while relaxing in a bath, but you could also use this in the shower! The scent was wonderful – I LOVE lavender, but there are also other scents to choose from!
For your Pinning pleasure…
