While my typical daily work attire looks more like leggings and sweatshirt than pencil skirt and button up these days, it’s still fun to put on those pumps and grab my briefcase every once in awhile. Okay, wait, so maybe I never actually had a briefcase. But a cute tote bag I most definitely had. I remember one of the hardest things about traditional office attire was finding an outfit that I felt good in that also worked for the changing seasons [looking at you, Fall]. I wanted to take the hard part out of getting dressed for work [work itself can be hard enough!], and put together a few outfits to freshen up your Fall work wardrobe.
I turned to Macy’s because they have a huge selection of items for every work wear situation – from casual to business, and everything in between! Macy’s carries so many of my favorite brands, so it’s no wonder that I look to them for not just clothing, but home too! It doesn’t hurt that right now they’re having a 25% off Customer Celebration Event and Home Sale! Use code THANKS now through October 20th to take advantage of this sale before it’s gone!
Let’s get right to it: 5 work wear looks that will ease you right into Fall!
Turtleneck + Pants
Calvin Klein Plaid Button-Tab Ankle Pants [TTS, wearing size 2] // Karen Scott Zip-Back Mock-Neck Sweater [TTS, wearing XS] // Marc Fisher Dapple Pumps Women Shoes
We often think about incorporating print trends into our tops, but in this instance I’m bringing the plaid in via my pants! Grey is a safe bet in almost any office setting, and the subtle plaid print brings in just a tad bit of the Fall trend, without being too much! I paired it with a soft, black mock neck sweater which could easily be worn with jeans and heels or boots outside the office as well!
Skirt + Turtleneck + Tall Boots
Tahari ASL Plaid Pencil Skirt [TTS, wearing size 2] //Karen Scott Cotton Ribbed Turtleneck Top [size up if in between, wearing small] // [similar boots] Sam Edelman Lindsey Western Boot
If you’re ready to bring the plaid in in a more dramatic fashion, this skirt outfit is the way to go! I LOVE this outfit. From the color of the sweater, to the print of the skirt, to the fit of the boots, it screams Fall and I scream I LOVE EACH PIECE OF YOU, OUTFIT! Okay whew, got a little carried away there for a second with the love… anyways, this skirt and turtleneck combo is a great feminine look in all the right Fall colors!
Black Jeans + Cardigan + Tank
Style & Co Long Thermal-Stitch Cardigan Sweater [TTS, wearing XS] // Inc Contrast Sheer-Trim Top [TTS, wearing small] // STS Blue Emma Ankle Skinny Jeans [TTS, wearing 26] // Sam Edelman Rodney d’Orsay Flats Women Shoes
When comfort is key [or you live for Casual Fridays], look no further than this outfit! Cozy is my jam- did I mention how often I’m living in leggings these days? Maybe more than I should admit. I digress. Cropped black jeans, a tank top with comfy cardigan, and a pair of flats, and you’re ready to get to work!
Tie Neck Blouse + Pants
Tie-Neck Tuxedo Blouse [size up if in between, wearing size 4] // Alfani Modern Straight-Leg Pants, Regular & Short Lengths [TTS, wearing size 2Short] // Nine West Flax Pointed Toe Pumps Women Shoes
I’m seeing this tie-neck blouse trend everywhere this season! Wear it tight, or wear it loose, tops like this are practically made for the office! I love that the black from the tie pulls in the black from the pants to bring the whole outfit together nicely, from head to toe!
Dress + Blazer
Tommy Hilfiger Piped Sheath Dress [size up if in between, wearing size 4] // Kasper Open-Front Topper Jacket [size up if in between, wearing size 4] // Nine West Flax Pointed Toe Pumps Women Shoes
Last, but not least is a classic dress, blazer, and heel combo! This is especially perfect for when you have post-work plans with your man or your girlfriends, and you can quickly ditch the blazer when 5pm hits!
Which look do you see yourself wearing to your office setting? Whichever it may be, don’t wait to visit Macy’s, as this Customer Celebration Event and Home Sale won’t last long!
For your Pinning pleasure…
