When it comes to Thanksgiving, there’s a lot to think about. When should I start thawing the turkey? Should I do a Turkey Trot 5k in the morning? Will anyone notice that there is actually wine in my coffee mug? And most importantly-how stretchy do my stretchy pants need to be?
What to wear to Thanksgiving dinner can be tricky. It may be the only time your whole family is able to get together during the year, so you want to put your best foot forward! Or it may be that your biggest concern is planning your day of eating appropriately so that you have room left to sample a little [or a lot] from each piece of pie.
Everyone’s Thanksgiving traditions are a bit different, so I’ve put together a few options- from dressed up to dressed down- all with plenty of room for a food baby. This year I turned to JCPenney for head to toe Thanksgiving outfit options, because I know that I can find high quality, stylish items at a great value. And when the price AND look are right, you know you’re going to love them. Take care of your Thanksgiving day beauty and fashion needs, and maybe pick up a few Christmas gifts for the beauty lover on your list! My hope is that these outfit ideas will take the guess work out of what to wear, allowing you to spend more time enjoying being with family this year.
Pull on Jeans + Blouse
Black Label by Evan-Picone Long Sleeve V Neck Blouse [wearing size XSmall] // a.n.a Skinny Leg Pull On Jean [wearing size XSmall] // Gloria Vanderbilt 39.9mm Hoop Earrings
Jeans and a blouse are a safe bet at most Thanksgiving get togethers. Extra safe if your blouse has a giant turkey on it [kidding… I’d probably steer clear of the turkey blouse]. Since many pairs of jeans can be constricting especially in the waist region, I chose a pair of pull on jeans with a stretchy waist band. I expect to hear things like, “You’re going to need to unbutton your jeans soon if you keep going back for more mashed potatoes!” Well, Aunt Sally, I’ve got news for you- no buttons here! If you’re concerned about the jeans and blouse look being too casual, you could choose a darker denim, pop on a pair of heels and add some sparkly jewelry to dress things up!
Leggings + Tunic
a.n.a Ponte Leggings [wearing size XSmall] // Liz Claiborne Tunic Top [wearing size XSmall] // Gloria Vanderbilt 39.9mm Hoop Earrings
For a more guaranteed comfort- our tried and true Thanksgiving outfit- leggings and a tunic! I chose a pair of ponte material leggings, which are a bit of a thicker material than most leggings. This not only keeps you warmer, but also dresses up the leggings a bit more, so there’s no question of whether they’re athletic leggings or not. I love the color blocking on this tunic, and the length is perfect for leggings- not too long so it seems like a dress, not too short and showing off the booty. Pair this outfit with either tall boots or booties, and you’re out the door with plenty of stretch in those leggings to keep you going back for more.
All that you need to do now is figure out what’s on the menu and prep for some serious Black Friday shopping!
