Take Your 9-5 Outfit To 5-9

Step in [and out] of the office in style

It’s something we hear all of the time — “I want an outfit that I can wear both at work and outside of work!” Think boardroom meets bar scene. I get it. When I worked outside of the home, whenever it came to making a new purchase I would first ask myself if I would be able to wear it at work and on the weekend. Versatility is oh so important when it comes to getting max wear out of your pieces [and helps justify all of those swipes of the CC, leaving all buyers remorse at the checkout counter]. When you know that you’re investing in outfits that can literally take you from your 9-5 straight into your 5-9, it’s a win/win! Extra bonus: your laundry load just cut in half when you make these genius purchases. You’re welcome. Today I’m bringing you an outfit that you can do just that.

You may have noticed, I’ve started turning to Ann Taylor for some seriously cute work wear recently. I have been beyond impressed with the look, feel, quality and cuts of their pieces and so when it came time to creating a look for the office that’s cool enough to go out in, I knew Ann Taylor was the first place I wanted to look. They are constantly running stellar sales so finding items within your budget is as easy as spilling your coffee all down the front of you while on your way into work for the day [or is that just me who always masters that task?] Regardless, Ann Taylor will have you winning best dressed in the cubicle and at that cute local bar down the street [I mean, all this leopard print – I die].

Dressing for your 9-5

Cutout Puff Sleeve V-Neck Tee [true to size, wearing in small] // Modern Skinny Jeans In Wild Moss Wash [true to size] // Skinny Leather Belt // Mila Leather Pumps [true to size] // Crystal Clover Beaded Necklace // Pochette Satchel

For that day in the office, keep your look polished with hints of fun peeking through in this adorable puff sleeve tee tucked into these oh so comfy burgundy skinnies. I love the statement this beaded necklace makes without being too distracting for your cubicle mate or customer sitting across the desk from you. It’s a look that allows you to be taken seriously while comfortable enough to feel like you’re getting away with casual Friday on a Monday.

Stepping out for your 5-9

Cutout Puff Sleeve V-Neck Tee [true to size, wearing in small] // Modern Skinny Jeans In Wild Moss Wash [true to size] // Knit Twill Moto Jacket [true to size, wearing in 2] // Spotted Scarf  // Crystal Clover Hoop Earrings // Mila Leather Pumps [true to size] //  // Pochette Satchel

With a few simple swaps, you’re ready to roll out the door and right up to your martini club hot spot. Simply untuck that cute top, throw on a moto jacket for when those evening temps start to drop, add some animal print [always a must in my book] around your neck and trade out your necklace for a coordinating pair of earrings. With a few minor tweaks, your work look easily becomes your evening look and the only thing you really need to worry about for your day is what your cocktail of choice is going to be at everybody’s favorite time, happy hour.

Somebody pass the coffee please, I’m ready to do it all over again. Tomorrow’s outfit that can take me from work to play? I’m thinking this dress looks like a good start…

As much as I love shorts season [aka summer] I sometimes despise the actual “denim shorts season” itself. Shorts can be tricky. Sometimes they are too tight, too short, too loose and the list of all of the discomforts of shorts goes on. Today, we’re here to put some of those discomforts to rest and […]

If there’s one trend I’m happily hopping on board with, it’s the white sneaker rage. Maybe they never went out of style, maybe it’s more socially acceptable than ever to wear tennies with every. single. outfit. Either way, I’m here for it.
