It’s safe to say that fall has officially taken over our house, one pumpkin at a time. While I am all for decorating during the different seasons, fall has to be one of my favorites [right after Christmas] as I love the golds, rusts and warm earth tones that it floods your shelves and walls with. If you are anything like me you go to one store (
Target) and load up on all of their new seasonal decor because heaven forbid you use what you had last year 😉 I thought it would be fun to share some peaks into our home and what it looks like during the fall season. While I am not sharing the entire house [is decorating your bedroom for seasons a thing? if so, consider that a fail in this household] but the main rooms that get a touch of pumpkin. We’ll start with my favorite room in the house – the kitchen. Come on in!
light fixture: menards // island centerpiece items:
Target
I’ve been on the hunt recently for a cart to place in this little area below the sign my sister made for me [
you can buy your own here!] and fortunately, I just found
this cart at Target when browsing the aisles the other day. I spent a solid 20 minutes in the middle of the store putting together all of the decor on it, took a picture, sent it to Shawn with something along the lines of “pleeeeeeeeeeeeease” and low and behold the begging worked and here we have it!
Moving to the dining room – or at least the dining portion of the kitchen. I’m not sure it is technically a “room” but more so a “space” but whatever, you get the picture. Actually you get like 20.
I’m going to really surprise you when I tell you where the mugs, plates and place mats came from – surprise!
Target! The
light fixture is from Lowes, the table is from Craigslist [yes, we are still alive to tell the tale] and the cute little centerpiece stuff came from IKEA and I can’t remember. No, I can’t remember isn’t a name of the store but it is the most commonly said thing out of my mouth.
From there we can venture into my other favorite room of the house, the “outdoor” room. You see, outdoor is in quotes because it’s actually indoors, yet I call it outdoor because of the shake siding that covers the walls so there we have it – the outdoor room!
Last but not least, the main living room…..
Swapped out some pillows, added a little bit of fireplace decor and called it a day!
Super simple touches, but touches none the less. And there you have it – welcome to our fall festive [ish] home!
What’s your favorite season to decorate for?
