I keep forgetting that I want to fill this space with things that I actually want to remember in a few years. While outfits are fun and all, in two months I could care less what I was wearing today and will most likely wish that I would have inserted a little more life instead of cute shoes onto these pages. Not to say that cute shoes are going away anytime soon because hello, but ultimately it’s the little things that we did, the funny moments I found myself in and the pictures of my family and friends that I want to have in my little “diary” [that the entire world has access to] to look back on. Five years ago I started this blog to document the average things that make this life a little bit more wonderful and five years later I have to constantly remind myself to stop and do just that. So here we are, a post documenting those moments that really do make this crazy life beautiful. A few look backs, a few looks ahead and a few random thoughts.
+ If you haven’t heard the news yet, my sister started her own sign company, Joyfully Said Signs, recently and is kicking butt at it. She recently set-up at her first market and nearly sold out #baller.
The whole fam damily came out to support her at the market which meant drinking mojitos and beer, eating pulled pork and listening to live music. It’s a hard job but somebody’s gotta do it 😉
If you saw in my last post we are the proud owners of one of her newest signs, “let’s stay in” with more obviously on the way. Go sis go!
+ This is going to come as a huge surprise but much of our time recently has been spent out on the boat, both entertaining others and entertaining ourselves [mostly our dog Maggie who has become quite the avid boat rider while chewing on bones]. I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again – I am so freaking happy that we decided to buy a fixer upper on water. EVERYBODY, GO DO IT. We’ll be boating babes for life.
+ Because we can’t get enough of being on or in the water, our other weekend plans included heading over to a friends house who lives on a local lake and finding our way to a cute little waterside restaurant for cheese loaded tater tots and other healthy things. Because Indiana decided to be hotter than balls on Saturday we said peace out to the boat and hello to a pool. Bottle service included. Okay, well I brought my own bottles but basically the same as being served except not at all.
+ Summertime cookouts. Enough said.
+ This is totally off topic but so important, if you are the praying type, please keep Emily from The Freckled Fox and her husband and family in your prayers. She is going through something that I can’t even imagine and has been so heavy on my heart for the past few months and especially weeks. I was fortunate enough to meet Emily and her husband Marty this January at Alt Summit and they are so precious together. You can head over to her blog to read the full story but man, pour out that love people – they need it.
+ If you didn’t check out the weekend’s post recapping all of my latest outfits + sales be sure to check that out here. Unless you of course aren’t into that type of thing. It’s cool, I like nudity too.
Okay, that’s all for now – more to come this week so stay tuned! Peace out pelicans. [pelicans are pretty, it’s a compliment].
