If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a few weeks ago when I was putting this whole Living Proof craze to the test. I had heard so many great things about these hair products so on a day where it appeared my hair had 2,000 flyaways, or at the very least had stuck my finger into an electrical outlet, I decided what’s the worse that could happen right? I’ve always made remarks about having horse hair as it’s thick, a delightful course texture and is dry thanks to the million times I’ve had it highlighted, blow dried and have done who knows what else to it. I wanted to see if it was possible for my hair to not only look healthy but feel really healthy too. After taking the Living Proof product selector tool to figure out what products would be best for my mane I made my selection and waited like a child on Christmas morning to receive my products.
There’s the full line-up folks. I guess I should start by saying while my motto is always “go big or go home” you probably don’t need to this big. But I mean, or you could. I was most excited for the restore products which helps dry damaged broken hair like my own, hoooraaaay. The shampoo and conditioner have been a big hit with my head and have truly made such a difference in the lack of hair breaking that’s been happening.
I had never used a hair mask before so when I saw they offered a couple of different options, I went with both because YOLO. I must say the perfect hair day night cap overnight perfector is one of my ultimate favs as it not only smells fabulous, it leaves my hair silky smooth and ready to take on the next day [or three]. I use the restore mask in the shower instead of conditioner 1x a week and the overnight perfector 1-2x a week.
Being that my hair is super straight and I would love for it to be as smooth as possible, it only made sense to try out a couple of the products from the straight and satin line – the satin serum is a must use product for me every day now. One squirt and I rub it through my damp hair before drying and BAM – shine and softness like I’ve never experienced. Because I throw so much heat at my hair every day, the straight heat activated spray is crucial in protecting my hair up to 450 degrees. Buh bye frizzed out burn marks.
Depending on the day I may throw in some other fun business like the 5-in-1 styling treatment or the straight hair spray to act like I know what I’m doing when it comes to the style of my hair [we all know I don’t].
I can honestly say my hair has never felt healthier in its life as I can’t keep my hands out of it [it just feels so soft and wonderful, it’s a miracle] and I don’t plan on quitting Living Proof anytime soon [read: ever].
